Advantages Space, durability,

Disadvantages Ride is a little lumpy at times.

Having owned the Renault Kangoo, 1.4 authentique (automatic version), for a year now, I am more than happy with its overall performance and dirveability. It is not a car to waft about in, without feeling so much as a bump. It is however, a good workhorse, with ample room for 5 people and oodles of luggage space with the seats folded down. Travelling from the south of France to the UK was a breeze, even if the seats caused a bit of discomfort, but, after such a long journey, that was no great surprise.
It can cruise the motorways all day long, power may be a little lacking, but overall it performs well. It is nippy on urban journeys and parking is easy, ably assisted by the power steering. Visibility is very good.
ABS, twin airbags, A/C, front fogs and a decent stereo are all standard. The auto box, can be a little jerky at times, but is a small price to pay, for not having to change gears. There is a useful gear hold button, for climbing or descending hills, plus a snow mode, to help you out of a slippery or winter situations.
Tailgates come in a variety of options, mine has the lift up version, which is a great canopy if you want to sit on the rear ledge and need shelter from the elements.
The dashboard is well laid out, a tad plasticky, but so are a lot of more expensive cars. Trip meter is electronic, to reduce the incidence of "clocking".
Road holding and ride are adequate. If the road is very rough, then you are shaken about a bit and sharp corners can bring you close to the person beside you.
Headroom is great, as you would expect from a van type car.
Fuel economy is nothing to write home about, auto boxes do use more than manuals and I would estimate about 25-30mpg on average, a bit less if you have the air conditioning on as well.
Servicing on a yearly basis, with dealers nationwide, or choose independent service centres, such as Kwik Fit.
Overall, this car would not have been my first choice, but, I am converted. A great all round people / luggage carrier with good equipment levels as standard.
