Advantages: Space, durability, Disadvantages: Ride is a little lumpy at times.
Having owned the RenaultKangoo, 1.4 authentique (automatic version), for a year now, I am more than happy with its overall performance and dirveability. It is not a car to waft about in, without feeling so much as a bump. It is however, a good workhorse, with ample room for 5 people and oodles of luggage space with the seats folded down. Travelling from the south of France to the UK was a breeze, even if the seats caused a bit of discomfort, but, after such a long journey, that was no great surprise.
It can cruise the motorways all day long, power may be a little lacking, but overall it performs well. It is nippy on urban journeys and parking is easy, ably assisted by the power steering. Visibility is very good.
ABS, twin airbags, A/C, front fogs and a decent stereo are all standard. The auto box, can be a little jerky ...
Advantages: Modern looking for year, large and spacious loading area, comfy drive Disadvantages: None as yet
I recently purchased a renaultKangoo Van 2001 reg from a second hand dealer and I am very impressed. I had a Ford Escort Van before and just wanted something with a bit more room in to carry all of my tools etc. The model I have is a Kangoo 865 1.9 Diesel, and it has a side loading door as well as back doors. The driving area is very spacious and feels like a car to drive. It drives really well, and is effortless. The acceleration is pretty nippy too. Even when you are in 5th gear and put your foot down, you can really feel the power. The model I have has no rear windows and so you have to rely on your side wing mirrors as there is no internal mirror. The mirrors have been designed larger than average, so visibilty is good. I was nervous about not be able to see out of a rear view mirror, but it really is a lot easier than I first ...
