Sensible as I may be, as you well know by now, occasionally even I submit to temptation, and so here I will recount my experience of a blind date. I have owned one of these cars for the last year, I bought it because it was a seven seater estate and didn't look like one of those hideous MPVs. The 2 litre engine has been very reliable if a tad thirsty, it generally returns about 31-34 mpg in everyday use around town and trips of no more than 40 miles. I have two children and they love sitting in the rear facing seats right at the back of the car which means we have no problem when there are seven of us going out. Having just started a family, I needed to change my existing 3 door car to a more family friendly car. I looked into various options and ended up getting the Laguna at Cargiant for £6k. I bought the car with 25k miles on the clock and it was an 2005 Model. The car itself is nice to dive and the main reason I choose it was because of it's safety record and 5 Star Rating. This was bought for £550 to replace a diesel Nissan Serena 8 seater. Thus the difference in performance is not a fair comparison but this car can accelerate when all 7 seats are occupied and that is a delightful improvement, I have not yet tried it with a roof box but will do this summer.
