The Car It's a black renault megane coupe dynamique+ 1.6 51reg. I used to have a Renault Clio 1.4RT which I loved, but the coupe was the only car that I would exchange it for (it had to be black).
Exterior It looks fantastic, sleek and sexy - the dynamique+ model has a sunroof fitted as standard as well as having air conditioning. It has front fog lights which add to the classy look the car has. It's black which does show up the dirt but it's such a nice looking car that you take pride in and actually want to keep it clean and shiny!
Interior There is plenty of room in the front with the seats being able to go up and down as well as back and forth (for us shorties) but is very limited in the back - I wouldn't want to travel a long way in the back! The dash is smart looking with its white dials which give it a sporty look. The half leather half bucket seats are also comfy and quite easy to keep clean. It comes with a 6 CD changer as standard which I couldn't live without now! It also has the control by the steering wheel to adjust the music - volume, button to change the CD or track. The boot is quite small but I manage to fit 2 suitcases+ in it or all my supermarket shopping! The main disadvantage that I can say is that the view out of the back is limited, but I don't find it much of a problem as I mainly use my mirrors when parking.
Costs Car Insurance - I pay approximately £280 fully comprehensive - but I do have 12 ncb. Tax for 12 months was £140.
Maintenance The cost of maintenance isn't bad. I have had no major problems with it. Because of the size of the tyres some tyre places have to order them in because they are not a standard size - they are not the cheapest either costing around £50 for a good one. The car has never failed an MOT and the only other thing that I have changed are 2 bearings in the wheels.
Security It's fitted with an imobiliser as standard. You can buy extra security systems for it such as alarms.
Driving the car It's a lovely car to drive and I must say that when i'm in it , i feel really cool - he he! I have owned it for 4 years now and still really enjoy driving her. Acceleration is great but it does tend to be quite loud when you reach high speeds. It also drinks a lot of petrol - but maybe I am comparing it to my other half's diesel!! I have never had any problems with it and I regularly travel 100 miles at any one time. There are a few disadvantages I have mentioned but I still find it hard to find a car that i thoroughly enjoy driving and looks as good the Renaul Megane Coupe.
