Like a lot of people, our budget was quite tight and so an important factor in our search for a family car was value for money. I therefore hit the internet in search of a good sized car that wouldn't break the bank, either to buy or to run. We decided on an estate because of the boot space, we just had to research what was avaliable. We decided on the Renault Megane Sport Tourer for a number of reasons. Here are some of the pros: 1. Renault Megane Coupe Dynamique+

Advantages: Looks fantastic and great to drive.
Disadvantages: Limited space in the back.

The Car It's a black renault megane coupe dynamique+ 1.6 51reg. I used to have a Renault Clio 1.4RT which I loved, but the coupe was the only car that I would exchange it for (it had to be black). Exterior It looks fantastic, sleek and sexy - the dynamique+ model has a sunroof fitted as standard as well as having air conditioning. It has front fog lights which add to the classy look the car has. It's black which does show up the dirt but it's such a nice looking car that you take pride in and actually want to keep it clean and shiny! Interior There is plenty of room in the front with the seats being able to go up and down as well as back and forth (for us shorties) but is very limited in the back - I wouldn't want to travel a long way in the back! The dash is smart looking with its white dials which give it a sporty look ...

Meganes Cheap 1.6 Coupe Cabriolet

Advantages: Cheap, good looking, er cheap & good looking
Disadvantages: It's not a Porsche

Haviing bought the megane 1.6 cc in November 2006 i've been patiently waiting for some nicer weather to get a real feel for the car. Most reviews focus on how under powered this car is, with some reviews being an excuse to just moan about build quality. I'm here to set the record straight. it's true; it's never going to beat a porsche from the lights but that's not the point. It's a great car for pootling around in, with the roof down on a sunny day. It hasn't got the pose value of some other cabriolets but you can pick them up for very little (try £8k off a 6 month old model from one of the car supermarkets!) This puts a six month old car into the £11k bracket; understand where I'm coming from now? The boot is perfectly adequate with the roof up. Guess what? If you need to fold a big roof into a boot its going to take up some room ...
