Having the older version on the Renault Clio (03 plate) I had an idea of what I expected to get in my New Clio. What I like most about the Clio is it always seems to be slightly more advanced when it comes to the in car technology and the as standard spec, compared to any other small car.
I have the Dynamic version and for around £10 500 price tag you can expect one of the most comfortable drives. I was really impressed with the power steering it seems to be 10x lighter that the old Clio and even that was light. This allows those tight parking spaces much much easier!! The height of the car means that you seem to have a much more open view of the road ahead and you do feel more in control. However there is a drawback, to this if you like taking corners at speed, because the car is higher the sideways roll is greater and handling reduction is decreased. However this car seems to be very reliable and i dont think I would have a problem with it for many years. The performance of the Clio is good, even with the 1.4 engine. The power and acceleration from standing is good and you can really build a speed over a few seconds. Around town and the Clio is all that! Stylish and in my opinion somewhat economical but it can eat the petrol on short stop start journeys. A much bigger windscreen allows for excellent visibility and I think gives the car its stylish sporty looks.
Inside there seems to be lots of space and is comfortable to sit in. I think for its class of car the New Clio has defiantly got to score high marks when it comes to standard equipment. Power steering, CD player, electric windows, full cabin airbag system front and rear, onboard driving computer (useful for the fuel conscious), finger tip stereo controls, remote central locking, cornering headlights (they are cool), and all the normal features you expect with a new car. The only problem I have found with this car is there is lack of storage space. And places to keep valuables out of sight compared with the older model.Overall I would defiantly go and test drive if you're interested I think you will be impressed as I really do think that the designers at Renault do think about the customers needs as well as the sporty looks.
