I currently own a 1999 T reg Renault Scenic 1.6 Alize which I think is fantstic.
I had my son in January 2006 and anyone with kids will know about all the stuff that you need to drag about with you when you have a baby (I had a Fiat Punto before which was great as a wee run around but not a practical family car) so when we decided to change out car I fell in love with the Scenic.
Huge Boot - the boot is massive - my parents live on the other side of the country and we try to go through once a month and even when my son was tiny and we needed the big pram, highchair, baby bath and all out own luggage we managed to fit it all in - we actually spend my sons first christmas at my parents and santa even managed to fit all the presents in.
High Driving Position- in the Scenic the drivers position is higher than in a standard saloon car so you get a better view of the road, at junctions and so on which I think is fantastic - I find it quite difficult driving a smaller car (my sisters clio usually) as you just dont have the same vantagepoint.
Hidey Holey - there are two hidey holes in the back under the floor which are great for keeping things in - I keep a travel blanket and first aidkit in one of mine - good to have in case of an emergency but not the sort of thing that you want messing up your car.
Fuel Consumption - although this is a larger car the fuel consumption is great on long journeys - I get about 450 miles to a £45 tank of petrol which is about the same as I was getting in my wee 1.2 cars.
Comfort - the car is very comfortable - both in the front and the back - in the back there is plenty of legroom which is a major advantage - there is more legroom in my scenic than in my parents shogun and x-trail - cant do much better then that.
Air Conditioning - my model has air conditioning which is fab as my husband suffers really badly from hay fever so hates the windows being down - and now I dont have to boil to death when he is in the car.
Looks - the car looks really nice - not too big looking from the outside but spacious on the inside.
Reliability - my car is 8 years old and has 115000 miles on the clock and the only thing that I have had to do in the past 2 years is change the spark plugs and brake pads.
I would highly recommend this car to everyone - very comfertable and spacious, nice to drive, reliable what more can I say.
***1 set of brake pads consists of 4 pads and will fit a full axle either front or back (2 ... more
pads per brake disc).*** The complete aftermarket braking solution. The Mintex range alone includes over 1,250 references in brake pads, over 300 brake shoes, more than 700 discs and 55 brake drums, as well as a complete range of brake system accessories and brake fluids. Developed and engineered to set new standards in aftermarket friction, Mintex brake pads provide the optimum balance of performance and extended service life.As vehicle speeds continue to increase, the demands placed on the brakes become greater. However, this is just one of the reasons why TMD Friction continues to improve the specification of Mintex friction. With the recent introduction of the European Commission?s Block Exemption Regulations, there is a growing market need for O.E. quality friction products at aftermarket prices.
