Advantages Fun, Looks good and practical
Disadvantages No basic model,
New Renault Twingo was launched here in september and it was a long time coming the car itself looks completely different to the original and is all round a slightly larger car. Dont get me wrong, though, it does look good. More sporty looking as Renault have aimed it at the younger market.
Sadly only two specifications have been brought to this country. 1.2 16V 75 HP Dynamique and the 1.2 TCE 100 HP GT.The model I drove was the GT this 1.2 TCE 100 HP engine works very well in the New Clio but as the New Twingo is obviously smaller and lighter the drive is Fun to say the least but it you feel it runs out of revs and before you know it your in the red and changing quickly into second. It feels and looks sporty with Extra tinted rear glass, Silver rear spoiler silver door mirrors and a choice of exterior stikers to personalise your Twingo. The down side is the ride is bumpy due to the stiff suspension but then if you make the ride softer it would loose the sporty feel. The Twingo comes with ABS and EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution) so when you need to stop the Twingo will Stop Although if your driving like a crazy person please allow a little more stopping distance
The interior is 'nice' would be the best word to use nothing fancy just the usual air con, cd player and maybe not to everyones taste, the dash in the centre of the dash with a rev counter in front of you behind the steering wheel. You can get a 'Tune pack' as an option to connect i-pod or mp3 player and hands free bluetooth. The two seperate rear seats slide to give rear passengers leg room or forward for more boot space when doing the Christmas shoping. Downside on the interior is that some may say all the plastic looks a bit cheap. The GT is ideal for the younger person looking for something fun and the Dynamique is ideal for the older person to potter to the shop.
Fuel concumption combined 47.8 for the GTDynamique £8375.00
Yes I thought the same. Not the cheapest on the market but my opinion is that its probably the best looking and the most fun to drive. With any luck Renault will bring out a cheaper starting model. The old Twingo was cute the New Twingo is Fun and Fiesty
