I paid £89 for this device and I really like it. When i first started out using wireless I would get a 28% signal and 24% link quality. Expanding Realms

Advantages: Great range, Good design, Cisco heritage
Disadvantages: Complicated install, not cheap

...either thinking of buying the Linksys WRE54G or you have one and want to see what other people think of it. I have a Linksys WAG200G home gateway which is a modem and wireless router in one. Within the extremes of my house and garden signal was poor and I investigated various options and came to the conclusion that the best one was to go for a range expander. Linksys extender

Advantages: Easy to use, good extension

Was very easy to set up (once I typed the correct MAC address into my gateway) and provides the range I need to go over about 30 metres and through several big thick brick walls. I was having trouble with just my router so i turned to the internet and this is what i found. I combined it with a new antenna on my PC and my signal is now 5 bars! Much better than a half of one! ...
...have wireless. I have not encountered and crashing or other negative effects. I just needed a bit of help for linksys website, which was a bit hard to navigate. I ended up leaving their site and using a forum. It turned out my problem was just my silly own mistake...oops. ...
