Your so-called partner Sheva is always running off to do nothing or just stands right in the way of fire. She keeps ammo and first-aid packs to herself and is generally a pain! This is a review of the new resident evil game for XBOX 360. It doesnt contain any plotline or ending spoilers so dont fear! The game was released March 13th 2009 but i just got my copy this afternoon and have been playing it non-stop! Its addictive gameplay at its very best! The game focuses on the role of two characters in an effort to get rid of a virus that is spreading across the world. It has a very "28 days later" feel to it i think. The main character, who you play in the solo campaign, is Chris followed closely by his british-american-italian (who knows) sidekick Sheva.
----- Gameplay -----
This game is hard to control at first like alot of third person shooters out there but you will get used to it eventually. The most annoying gameplay aspect of RE5 is the movement of your character and trying to shoot stuff. Firstly, you cant move and shoot which gets annoying but the developers thought this would rise the tension - so stay aay all you run-and-gunners, This is not for you! There are some great guns and grenades in the game to get to grips with especially the machine gun, a real zombie muncher! Overall, gamplay is tricky but managable. One of the great features of RE5's gameplay is the inventory function, which you use constantly to stay alive. The idea is that you and Sheva have 9 different items that you can 'hold' at any one time and these can be switched between the two players all the time to conserve ammo or weapons. This is great and is key in making your strategy. Another strategic feature is the ability to make Sheva be in'Cover' or 'Attack' mode during gameplay. This means she will either run on ahead and gun down anything she sees, or stay close behind you watching her back. This does have it's problems but will discussed later.
----- Graphics -----
RE5 looks incredible! Theres no other way to describe the game, everything just looks so perfect and realistic no wonder the developers have been spending so much time on this installment of the series. Settings look great and characters appear very detailed. Baddies look menacing and the gore-factor is definitely of the chart!
----- Co-op -----
The best way to play Resident Evil 5 is with a friend over XBOX Live because the AI in solo mode just plain SUCKS. The quality of the AI is so bad that it's sometimes difficult to notice whether you've changed her tactics or not because she just runs around wherever she wants to! Beating zombies is way more fun with a friend on XBOX Live and the game holds up to such demands very well losing what seems like no graphics quality or slow down. Its a joy to play for hours online.

So the question im sure is on your mind, should i buy this game? The answer is definitely YES! This game looks beautiful and despite some AI issues it really make you afraid and wish you were holding on to momma! RE5 is a great achievment on behalf of CAPCOM and you need to experience this online with a friend to fully experience the might of this title. Happy gaming :)

_Summary_ The arrival of Resident Evil 5 was eagerly anticipated on Xbox 360. Personally I wasn’t sure what to expect after reading through various bad reviews that had been written based on the demo version, but I preordered it anyway. So, yet again we play as Chris Redfield (who seems to have undergone an extreme makeover) and this time we have been sent to Africa on an investigative mission to find out about the virus that is now spreading across ... ...a new addition to the Resident Evil games, I mean there was Ashley in Resident Evil 4 but we were supposed to protect her, Sheva is a little different. Many reviews have said she is annoying, however she actually isn’t that bad if you are playing on normal mode. On numerous occasions she has revived me and helped me kill larger groups of enemies…and hand her a rifle and boy does she use it well! However if you play on Veteran mode, yes she is pretty ...

Resident evil 5 is the latest game in the series and one that finally ties in all the loose ends from the predecessors. If however your resident evil knowlegde only comes form the hollywood blockbuster (like me) rest assured you will still enjoy its plot and storyy telling narrative The graphics are by far one of the best too date and cinematics always seem to suprise you. The music score is good in some places but its the sound effects that really ... ...low growl from the corner of the screen. Gameplay and control takes a while getting used to but once this is mastered it flows smoothly. The game also has endless customization wether its weapons/ costumes and a number of unlockables. Although I have completed the game months ago I still enjoy buddying up with a mate and going back to back against an army of undead. Want to blast away with unlimited ammo and superior firepower or take the survivor ...

Advantages: Great game and great co-op play Disadvantages: Its just feels to rushed
...but they have unfortunately failed. Resident Evil 5 on the other hand as gone above and beyond all expectation that i had for it. It masterfully blends action and horror to the point of pure genius The movement is smooth and the game just looks beautiful. The games best feature is the co-op play, Capcom has tried this once before with the Resident Evil Outbreak series but they failed. I personally played and beat the entire game with a friend online ... ...The only real downside to Resident Evil 5 is the length of the game, we had it finished in about eight hours, the game was a blast to play but it felt as if Capcom rushed everything in it a bit to much. Over all Resident Evil 5 is a very good game and its worth the price, if you have not picked your copy up already you should. ...

...missed the start of the Resident Evil franchise, i was "much too young" for the gore and violence of the games. So when my Dad recently offered to buy Resident Evil 5 so we could play it through together i jumped at the opportunity. We could only play at the nigh,t as I have a younger sister, and the dark only added to the atmosphere. After having played through the first few chapters together, both my father and I came to the same conclusion, that ... ...as, like all the other Resident Evil games, it is impossible to move at the same time as aiming. Many people who are fans of the series will claim that this only "adds to the tension" and i would agree with them, but it does seem to fall onto the side of unbelievability, as these are "trained" operatives, who just happen to not be able to move, and shoot? ...will start by saying that Resident Evil 5 is a fantastic addition to the Resident Evil Series. It really brings the story together about where Chris went to and what he did. It also includes other characters, such as Albert Wesker. It is set in an unknown African area which is lead by somebody or something.
Graphically, this game is fantastic. It is much smoother and better looking that its predecessor, Resident Evil 4. The facial expressions of ... ...are generally the same as Resident Evil 4, except with some obvious differences, such as door's opening and closing and some noises from the "zombies". The voice acting is good, and solid. Definitely up to par with Resident Evil 4. The music of the game adds to the African effect of the game and gives it a slightly creepy feel.
The gameplay itself is virtually identical to Resident Evil 4. The style of play, for example the running and shooting ...

Advantages: Outstanding Graphics, Gripping Storyline Disadvantages: Short Lifespan, Easy to Complete
-scenes interactive. at some points you may have to press a combination of buttons to dodge, run away, swipe or climb onto something. this was a great surprise for me. there i was watching the sheer beauty of the detail in graphics when along comes a giant "PRESS A+B NOW!" on the screen it rele keeps ur attention to the story and this is a positive thing as the storyline is amazing.
overall, the new installment into the ever-growing popular franchise has been a brilliant success. i would trade my whole collection of residentevil games to try out the new "residentevil5" that makes its way onto xbox360 and playstation 3, if its anything like this one, yet some more improvements in the length of the story and the difficulty, especially on the final boss, then theres a good chance it could be the greatest game in the history of gaming. ...
