Resident Evil DS is an exact remake of the ps1 classic of the same name. Having been a huge fan of the original game I was more than happy when Nintendo released the same game, but on the move... more

    Advantages Advantages Sound is OK

Disadvantages Disadvantages Blocky graphics, overall a short game, the NDS just can't cope with this

Resident Evil was first released back in 1996 on the original Play Station. It was a game ahead of its time and consisted of great graphics, great game play and a great story that was highly addictive as well. This game has now been transferred to the portable gaming world and is available on the DS. I found it took me a couple of hours to get in to the original game but once I did I was hooked. Story line Resident Evil is like something straight out of a horror movie in that the elite S.T.A.R.S alpha team is sent out to find the Bravo team, who mysteriously disappeared whilst investigating a ... more

Advantages Advantages Handheld horror! highly addictive

Disadvantages Disadvantages Dubious Graphics, Gimmicky add ons, Not very scary

Resident evil is a long running franchise based around survival horror and first found its footing on the PS1 over 10 years ago where it astounded audiences with its fantastic graphics, gripping game play and action packed terror. Never before had grown men been so scared of playing a game alone in a dark room as they had with the game. Many more games were introduced through the years and Resident Evil 1 was remade on the Game cube in wonderful high res glory, allbiet exactly the same game... So Resident Evil Deadly Silence comes along and I was expecting another stunning performance akin to ... more

Advantages Advantages Ols School Resident Evil, Portable, Some Scares

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not much improved, dull in places, repetitive

Resident Evil, the game that defined Horror games, and created its own genre....survival horror. It set the standard for horror games, and terrified gamers and in latter days movie go-ers for sequels to come. After the playstation original, a sega saturn version, re-release for both playstation and PC, and a 2004 gamecube re-make capcom, decided heck, we'll put it on the DS aswell.... Unless you've been living under a rock, you know all about Jill and Chris, members of S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Service), a police special forces team. They are the two playable of Resident Evil who ... more

Advantages Advantages Better graphics than the original, some fun adaptations.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Sound was weak, not worth the money for a port of such an old game.

Capcom venture into the world of handheld gaming with the release of Resident Evil Deadly Silence. All in all, this game is a port of the original PS1 classic to the Nintendo DS. Aside from being able to play the classic game all over again, there is a new nifty version which uses the DS' unique features. As with the original game you can play as two characters, Chris or Jill, with each character having a different difficulty. Also this DS version includes a multiplayer mode in which includes the two characters you can play in the game and an unlock able character who's name i won't tell you ... more

Advantages Advantages great gameplay, plenty of game time, gripping storyline

Disadvantages Disadvantages size of ds screen effects game atmosphere

Resident Evil DS is an exact remake of the ps1 classic of the same name. Having been a huge fan of the original game I was more than happy when Nintendo released the same game, but on the move! Aswell as the original game mode, there is a new game mode that takes advantage of the ds's unique touch screen capabilities. One minus i will say is that a lot of the atmosphere that comes from playing resident evil is lost because of the tiny screen, but attach headphones to the DS, it does help in emerging you in the world of survivor horror from the game that started it all. Wether you are new to ... more
