Advantages Advantages great game | great graphics | been remade

Disadvantages Disadvantages its scary | not for young kids | never play at night

This is a review about Resident Evil for the Gamecube; it has been graphically enhanced to the Gamecube standards, which makes the game much more fun to play. This game is not short, it is very long, and scary, and also it has a good storyline. It also has bits which make you want to be scared, like when you enter a room, the door opens all freaky, like all resident evil games do. The game is set in a Mansion that is in the middle of a wood, which is surrounded by Zombies. This is the first Resident Evil game made, but they have made spin off’s and obviously, they have made a prequel, which is ... more

Advantages Advantages A great improvement of the origional

Disadvantages Disadvantages it's abit easy untill you unlock the harder modes

First off, one thing has to be said. In no way shape, or form, should the Resident Evil Games, be in anyway associated with the Resident Evil movie franchise, they are seperate entities entirely (with the games for the mostpart being very good, and the movies being utterly mediocre). This game is a remake of the origional which was first released on Sony's Playstation back in 1996, and was somewhat revolutionary for it's time. Whilst it was by no means the first "survival horror" game, it became arguably the most iconic, and also one of Capcoms best franchises, along side the Street Fighter ... more

Advantages Advantages Amazing plot and great new plotline, Still superb graphics, Atmospheric music.

Disadvantages Disadvantages No multiplayer, May not have great longevity for some.

Remember the Resident Evil for the Playstation? The atrocious cut scene at the start that made you want to laugh and cry? The great plot let down by poor graphics? Well Capcom has decided that enough is enough and has decided to bring the original to the Gamecube. Not just a port…or an update in graphics, a totally new game. Gone are the pixellated graphics of the original, in come detailed character models and beautiful pre-rendered backgrounds. The plot has also changed, none has disappeared but another plotline has been superbly weaved in, the saddening case of Lisa Trevor, who shows up as ... more

Advantages Advantages great visuals, plays brilliantly

Disadvantages Disadvantages inventory system can be irritating

A successor to the old Alone In the Dark games, the original Resident Evil on playstation and PC is a hugely iconic third-person survival horror in which you find yourself running around a creepy gothic mansion infested with zombies, solving puzzles, carefully conserving your limited ammo and er, eating pot plants in order to stay alive (okay, so technically they're herbs). The Gamecube remake is very faithful to the original, with a very similar atmosphere and art direction, full of creepy rooms and ominous, creaking starcases, whilst shambling zombies and rabid, undead dogs lurk around every ... more

Advantages Advantages enjoyable game, lots of zombies to kill

Disadvantages Disadvantages voice acting is a little off.

The Gamecube remake of the first Resident Evil game, in my opinion, is slightly better than the original. Whilst I enjoyed both games, the remake was much more insightful and frightening to play. Game Plot The player chooses the scenario they want to play which is Chris or Jill. I have only ever played as Jill as her scernario is easier but it is completely down to the players preference. Jill, a member of S.T.A.R.S alpha team, alongside Albert Weskter, Barry Burton and Chris Redfield are investigating the mountain range near Raccoon City as an amount of disapearances have been reported. When ... more
