The game is set in a Mansion that is in the middle of a wood, which is surrounded by Zombies. This is the first Resident Evil game made, but they have made spin off’s and obviously, they have made a prequel, which is Resident Evil 0, I will be writing a review on that in my time. At the beginning of the game, there is a cut scene, where your character and his/her team is being chased by a pack of zombie dogs, which have been infected with the T-Virus. The T-Virus, is a virus that when it has infected someone, they will mutate into a zombie. That is what the film is all about, so if you want more information, go watch the movie.
There are 2 characters you can be, there is Jill, who is a female agent, or you can be Chris, who is the man agent. If you are Jill, you get it easy, as you get to start off with a gun, but with very little ammo. But Chris has it hard, as he has no gun, only a knife. The stories are different, as you get further into the mystery of the mansion. Depending which character you are, is what you do, like Chris meets this women called Rebecca, and she is the main character in resident evil 0.
There are many different weapons in this game, but normally you only have a handgun, but you will probably find a shotgun or an automatic machine gun hiding somewhere, when you get further in the game. The game has lots of puzzles that need to be done, so you can unlock areas in the mansion, and also parts where you have to think fast, or you will be cut up to smithereens by the rolling ball with spikes all on it, which is set when you get to a certain part in the area.
This game is just not skill, it takes a lot of mind power to it, and strategic plans, you need to think ahead, or you will stand no chance in surviving this game. If you want to kill a zombie, you will have to shoot it ten times; do not let it get close to you, because if it does, you will start to get bitten by the zombie. When you shoot a zombie down, they are not necessarily dead, if they are on the floor, not dead, and you walk past them, they will grab your leg, and start to damage you badly.
There is quite some dialog in this game; it is one heck of a role play. It is great fun, especially when you don’t know what’s going to happen to you, and then you mysteriously disappear into this weird room, and then you get killed by some rolling boulder with spikes sticking out of it. It is really freaky when that happens. You talk a lot at the beginning of the game, you know like talking about what’s happened, what is going to happen, where who is, and that’s how you start your adventure off inside the Mansion.
The agents that have been sent down into the woods, are called S.T.A.R.S. soldiers, who are a special selected team that are meant to deal with this type of stuff, but in the game resident evil 2, there are no S.T.A.R.S. agents left, that’s why the game has different people in. This game is set inside a massive mansion, each resident evil game is set in its own area, Resident Evil Zero, is set in the woods, where you start out in. Resident Evil is set in a Mansion, Resident Evil 2 is set out in the town, where it has barley begun, and Resident Evil Nemesis (Resident Evil 3) is also set in town, but like everyone is infected.
The graphics of the game is superb, it has been enhanced for the Gamecube, and so it is a very good game graphically. It makes the world of difference, with the smoothness of the people’s skin, and the grittiness of all the zombies, great stuff there. The game is very enjoyable, it has loads of twists, and loads of places where you just don’t know what is going to happen; now that makes a great game.
The game is very original, it is one of the first horror games like this all about zombies that was ever made. It is on loads of other consoles, like the regular PSX (playstation 1), so you can’t really say that you don’t have the console to own this game. The game is very addictive, with all the tension that lies within this game, you can be playing it for hours. This game will last longer then you think, even though you don’t think it will, as you might play this type of game all night. Which I don’t recommend you not to do, as you WILL have NIGHTMARES, which is a bad thing.
This game is quite difficult in its own way; it needs a lot of mind power to overcome some of the obstacles that lay around in the Mansion, also strategic manoeuvres to get around certain areas, without plummeting/gunned down to death. There are voices in this game, but not all of it is done in them, in the cut scenes / main scenes, there is, but other then that, it is in the old regular worded form. The music of the game is not bad, not much though, it is very scary, and sometimes it can freak you out, personally, it doesn’t with me. The sound effects are great, with all the screaming, and the grunts coming from the zombies, they probably plotting against you or some crap like that, which you don’t need to worry about until they actually come to kill you, then you really want to start thinking of panicking, and running for your life.
This game is great value, it costs around £20, or even cheaper in some shops. You can find this game on any game website, only if they have it in stock, it is useful to know if they do have it in stock or not. I shall give this game a 4 star, as I liked the game with all the enhanced graphics, and the role play, and all the shooting, and all the grunting from the zombies, and all the zombie bosses. Just also to let you know, this game is rated 15, because it is very violent, and has some adult content to it also, not best for people to play this game, that are much younger then the rating.
Advantages: Amazing plot and great new plotline, Still superb graphics, Atmospheric music. Disadvantages: No multiplayer, May not have great longevity for some.
Remember the Resident Evil for the Playstation? The atrocious cut scene at the start that made you want to laugh and cry? The great plot let down by poor graphics? Well Capcom has decided that enough is enough and has decided to bring the original to the Gamecube. Not just a port…or an update in graphics, a totally new game. Gone are the pixellated graphics of the original, in come detailed character models and beautiful pre-rendered backgrounds. ... ...ammunition. The best thing about Resident Evil is the amazing plot which you will very likely become totally engrossed in, regardless of how many times you have played the original, or indeed, this version. Certain events happen differently depending on your character choice. Playing as Jill sees you having prolonged contact with Barry Burton who will help you out occasionally by getting you out of sticky situations or leaving you ammunition. Chris ...

Advantages: enjoyable game, lots of zombies to kill Disadvantages: voice acting is a little off.
...Gamecube remake of the first Resident Evil game, in my opinion, is slightly better than the original. Whilst I enjoyed both games, the remake was much more insightful and frightening to play. Game Plot The player chooses the scenario they want to play which is Chris or Jill. I have only ever played as Jill as her scernario is easier but it is completely down to the players preference. Jill, a member of S.T.A.R.S alpha team, alongside Albert Weskter, ... ...is the major upgrade for Resident Evil - the gamecube graphics are really fantastic, especially against other games that were around that time. They pay alot more attention to detail and the colour of the mansion makes it alot more mysterious. The characters have more 'lifelike' proportions and there facial expressions are a lot clearer. The little things like adding lightening every so often adds to the atmosphere Another feature is the sound, Resident ...

...with Capcom to ensure the Resident Evil series would continue but be exclusive to their platform. PS2 owners were left up in arms but the series doesn’t exactly die because another Gun Surivior is in the works as well as Resident Evil Online. However all new and old Resident Evil games would be coming to the GameCube. The first game to be released would be a remake of the original Resident Evil.
For those unfamiliar with the back-story to Resident ... ...to look like in other Resident Evil games when they stuck out against the pre-rendered backdrops. Not anymore. Sound plays a crucial part in any game and, arguably like in horror films, sound in horror games can either ruin or enhance the experience. The sound in the remake is just as impressive as the graphics. Most of the time the background music is silence, the scariest sound of all. You will need to keep your ears peeled for the moans of a zombie ...

...feelings that I inserted the Resident Evil disc into my Gamecube and fired it up. I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know if I'd like it or hate it. Considering the game was second-hand, I didn't even know if it would work. Anyone who read my review of the original Resident Evil will know the story by now. You and a small group of comrades are stranded in a remote mansion that you have to explore while fending off zombies, slavering dogs and ... ...Part of the original Resident Evil's charm was the sense of hokey fun to be had - the shambling zombies, the strangely light and cheerful backgrounds, the cheesy dialogue and the hammy boss fights. Each of these things could be seen as flaws, yet for some inexplicable reason they somehow made it a better game. They conveyed the sense of being inside a B-movie horror film. The remake is a far more competent survival horror game - it's darker, grittier, ...

...I’ve never got into the Resident Evil series; supposedly it wasn’t scary and the controls were quite dodgy. Although I did come very close to getting a Resident Evil game in the days of the Playstation, but I was put off by these little pieces of information. Although the idea of using an acceleration button to move forward doesn't sound like the best idea in the world, it's needed in these situations. These situations? To make the game seem scary, Capcom have set camera angles for different parts of the game. This means you keep going in the same direction even though the camera angles are changing. Advantages: Grpahics, Game play, Great Plot Disadvantages: Not enough copies in the stores, Not for the faint hearted
ResidentEvil has been the most famous and most popular horror/adventure game for some time now. Hollywood realised the cult status and so far two ResidentEvil films have been made.
Capcom signed as exclusive deal with Nintendo a few years back and as a result released ResidentEvil 1, 2 and 3 for the GameCube. It also released ResidentEvil Zero (a prequel to the 1st game) and Code Veronica X (taking place after Nemesis). This deal meant that Capcom would only release Residentevil games on GameCube, bad news for Playstation 2 owners, great news for GameCube owners. So the full range of ResidentEvil games on the GameCube is:
ResidentEvil Zero
ResidentEvilResidentEvil 2
ResidentEvil 3: Nemesis
ResidentEvil: Code Veronica X

Advantages: Gorgeous | Highly entertaining | A fantastic new direction Disadvantages: Some minor niggles
Out of all the ?Capcom 5? games it was without doubt that ResidentEvil 4 was the most anticipated. Of course, since then, out of the group one game has been canned and three (including this one) are ported to PS2 with only one of the games remaining exclusive to the GameCube as intended. Things change for better or worse but they always spark interest, so when it was revealed that ResidentEvil 4 was taking a brand new direction it was certainly going to cause a stir.
Heading back a few years when the game was first announced it seemed that it was going to be a typical Resi game that we knew so well. There wasn?t much to go on at the time except that Leon Kennedy from ResidentEvil 2 was back and this time he?s followed the evil Umbrella Corporation, the source of all the zombie madness, to the very heart of its empire. of February, I?m going to be out of work time. As March nears I?m going to purchase the Wind Waker and Pokemon, so expect some activity in March. As far as the ResidentEvil hoopla goes, it?s ended. Capcom has made all 3 remakes, and the new RE Zero exclusively for GameCube, so it?s kind of disappointing to have the anticipation end. ResidentEvil is a crucial bridge between the story, so any newcomers need to try it out. Hopefully, new ResidentEvils come out, and hopefully for GameCube only. Something strange is that I haven?t seen the ?GameCube Only Tab? on the game?s box, but I haven?t seen it for PS2. Anyways, RE2 is another great remake that any gamer should try.
