The alarm is zoneable, that is, you can set each sensor to be part of a zone ( zone 1 upstairs, zone 2 downstairs, zone 3 garage etc) and you can "part arm" the system if required, such as arming the downstairs zone but not the upstairs one when you go to bed. ( saves setting the alarm off when you get up in the middle of the night for a pee.
In the box you get the keypad, one remote control, one siren/strobe unit, one Passive infra red detector and one door/window magnetic sensor. I opted for extra PIRs and magnetic sensors, along with an extra remote control. These cost about £17 each, but are easily obtainable, and simple to install.
The only thing you may have a bit of trouble with, is setting all the programmable functions. Having said that, the manual is excellent, and easy to follow.
