Jamie Oliver; The Return Of The Naked Chef
As most of my mates will probably tell you I like to dabble a bit in the kitchen, and in the words of the man himself, ‘got stuck right in’, when Jamie Oliver started doing his TV series.
To my delight at Christmas, amongst the wide selection of socks and toiletries, that I seem to get around Christmas time, there was a copy of the ‘bible’. Not the old version that you see in churches, and people give you when your at primary school, the version as wrote by Jamie Oliver, and not the King James version, that I’m sure we all know and love.
It contains some brilliant tips on how to make some pucka tucka, and gives us all some excellent tips on all things in and around the kitchen. The book has some cracking recipes for simple everyday food but with that something extra that only Jamie can deliver.
You get the whole nine yards on breakfasts, munchies, salads & dressings, soups, broths, pasta dishes, risotto, fish (and shellfish), meat, poultry, game, vegetables, bread, desserts, sauces, stocks, and everything else that you can think of. As well as a cracking section on drinks (can highly recommend the Bellini!), both alcoholic and non-alcoholic for those of that persuasion.
The book is easy to read, and full of brilliant pictures set out in sections. Even though it does have a couple of pages full of pictures of Jamie and his mates larking around, you can put up with that when you learn the secrets of Wok – fried crispy bream with steamed greens and Thai dressing and Seared carpaccio of beef with chilli, ginger, radish and soy.
All in all it’s a cracking book, and available at all good book shops, for the somewhat hefty price of 20 of your finest English pounds.

Good book, good looking chef - BUT what does the food taste like? C'mon get cooking, I'll be round later for a taster....LOL. - Good op
Advantages: Wide range of recipes from everyday to special occasions, clear layout and photos Disadvantages: Not a cook book for those who aren't fans of Jamie!
