...time, but it was the 1001 Troubleshooter that caught my attention on the store shelves with it's promise of added odour neutralising abilities included in it's "Improved Formula" after recently potty training my little girl it seemed a good idea to properly freshen up the carpets, I could never quite shake the feeling that the house might smell a little bit like her accidents despite all my attempts at the time to mop up any messes, so with stain ... ...product. 1001 products are un-missable with their bright yellow and navy blue packaging and the Troubleshooter is no exception to this design rule, coming in the shape of a 500ml pump action spray bottle the spray is suitable for use on both carpets and upholstery.
As with all products of this nature it is recommended that you carry out a patch test just to be sure that the colour is not going to run in any way, but I've never been the patient sort ...

...for me to drink!!!) and 1001 stain remover!
Having never used this stain remover before, I was very apprehensive about using it, would it bleach the carpet etc!! remember this isn't my house!!!!
***Presentation / Packaging ***
The bottle comes in a nice bright yellow, 500ml spray bottle, bright blue label with 1001 written in yellow!!! and a nice blue spray gun applicator. The bottle is ergonomically designed (and trust me I needed it, with continuous ... ...the agenda!!).
***Instructions ***
This might sound silly to some, but I actually found the instructions hard to follow, they just didn't quite add up;
"Liquid Spills - Blot stain with kitchen towel to remove excess" Yep I could manage that part easily enough!
Then applying and rubbing, and vacuuming when dry, we couldn['t decide if it needed to be left before rubbing, how much to apply, and how long before it dried! Neither of us are thick, ...

...are spitting feathers.
The 1001 Troubleshooter is a stain removed for carpets and upholstery and I have a very nice chinese rug and it had little paw prints all around it.
The bottle is a spray bottle in navy blue and has a yellow spray lid and squeezer handle, the front of the bottle has Troubleshooter 1001 in yellow and it says it attack stains and dirt fast. On the back is directions for use and also warnings.
You must always test a patch first ... ...doing. It claims to rub out stubborn stains and also ones that are dried in. Quick effective removal you can trust, lets see eh!
Well the part that is stained on my rug is the beige part so I squirt away and out comes this nice smelling frothy liquid. At first look it looks like saliva, that is the best way to describe it. It soaks into my rug quite easily. I then follow the instructions and with a damp cloth work from the outside of the stain inwards. ...

Advantages: Good for small stain removal. Disadvantages: None.
The 1001 Troubleshooter stain remover spray makes life much easier. Do not get me wrong, I like the 1001 products full stop but having a ready made stain removal solution in a very easy to handle spray bottle does simplify matters.
If you are going in search of a bottle of 1001 Troubleshooter stain remover then just keep an eye out for the very familiar colours that the WD-40 Company use to market this carpet and upholstery cleaner.
1001 liquid ... ...I paid £1.80 for my 1001 Troubleshooter , the bottle has a spray top that has a nozzle which can be turned to twist it on or off.
If you want to tackle smaller stubborn stains then this spray bottle of 1001 solution is ideal.
I am always using it on my stair carpet, time after time we traipse up the stairs and leave some dirt that has clung to the soles of our shoes on the plain green carpet.
The bottle can be aimed directly at the stain which ...

Advantages: Does the job well, smells quite nice Disadvantages: You have to buy it!
1001 is a well known name in most households, synonymous with cleaning ability and stain removal. Well this 1001 Troubleshooter certainly lives up to it's name. It is a carpet and upholstery stain remover.
We have fairly light coloured carpets, not a wise choice really when you use a coal fire and have three grandchildren who always forget to remove their shoes after going outside in the mud!
Nevertheless we are stuck with our carpets as new ones ... ...used to try to clean the stains with a little mild detergent or even a solution of washing up liquid, always trying to be thrifty me, I hate buying a product if I think I can manage without :-)
Anyway, forgive my ramblings, I'll get to the point. Having got fed up with little dirty marks all over my carpet, I splashed out on a bottle of this stain remover.
The stains were dried on, so this was the real test, I sprayed the foam on as instructed ...

Advantages: Removes srains and smells nice. Disadvantages: May take more than one bottle if you have a few stains.
...one that stood out was 1001 troubleshooter, in a bright yellow bottle with a blue label, on the label it states Stain remover for carpets and upholstery , attacks stains and dirt FAST.
This cost me 2 pounds and came in a 500ml bottle.
Got home and whilst the kids are at school I decided to have a go at cleaning my stairs (more like needing a miracle, I thought). I read the instructions, cover stain with foam and work foam from the outside to the ... ...scrubbing brush.
"Did it work I hear you all shouting"
***************YES IT DID******************
It worked very well, my carpet looks alot cleaner, although not as clean as it was before, it looks alot cleaner than what it did with the mud all over it. Although I did have to buy an extra bottle as one was not enough for all of my stairs.
I would recommend this product, it was well worth the 2 pounds that I paid, when you think about how much ...

...is when I bought this 1001 stain remover. I was abit concerned whether or not it would work being £2.09 I didn't want to waste my money but I had to try something and it state on the label 'attacks stains and dirt fast'.
I was pleasantly surprised. It does work and very simple to use as long as you use it the stain remover straight away. Just rotate the nozzle to open, cover the stain (in my case baby sick) with foam and using a damp cloth just ... ...sure whether or not it is the fact that my new settee and rugs are a fairly dark colour but once the patch where I had cleaned dried you would have never known that my baby has been sick. This is also great for stick finger marks, split drink (normally husbands beer not just the kids), muddy foot prints, basically like it says on the bottle dirt.
You are warned (like most carpet cleaners) to test a hidden patch to make sure for colour fastness and ...

Advantages: got my carpet clean Disadvantages: still a very slight tea mark
I had a bottle of 1001 stain remover as I was going to need to use some after the builders have finished trailing mud and cement through the house.
So after cursing my husband I found the 1001 it is in a yellow plastic bottle with a blue squirt nozzle and followed the instructions. I blotted up as much tea (yes it was nearly a full cup spilt) with a cloth then I pointed the nozzle at the centre of the stain and squirted white foam came out I squirted ... ...it in to the carpet with a damp cloth and then left it for an hour or so I then got my vacuum and cleaned it. It was a little better.
The next day we borrowed a carpet cleaner (one that puts cleaner on carpet then sucks liquid back up again) from our local hardware shop and cleaned the whole carpet with 1001.
The carpet took a while to dry and then I vacuum cleaned the carpet.
The carpet looks much, much better there is a very slight mark where ...

...cream carpet! I had some 1001 Troubleshooter spray in my cupboard that i'd bought in as a provision and never used so i thought i'd give it a go. And to my amazement it worked. He's been sleeping in the hallway for 2 and a half weeks now with quite a few little and not so little accidents and i'm pleased, if a little surprised, to say that 1001 has stood up to challenge very well indeed and removed every last trace of puppy poo! The cons as far as ... ...first but after a while it becomes quite sickly.
2. As you leave some of the detergent in the carpet to vacuum when dry it results in having 'slimy' patches underfoot, not very nice for visitors!!!
3. Can take a while to dry which means in high traffic areas such as the hallway, the wetness attracts the dirt and you end up with dirty grey patches which then have to be cleaned all over again when dry.
Overall, its good but i would say more so for ...

...in I got out the 1001 Troubleshooter!!! Spray it on, let it soak in a bit, and then with a clean damp cloth rub it in to the carpet working from the outside in. Leave it to dry and then hoover.
Now I have to admit that when the carpet was still wet I didn't really notice much difference. Now this might cause people to rub more than they have to, or it might discourage them altogether. However once it has dried, and you hoover, it does look a lot ... ...Any little stain or dirty area disappears and the floor or sofa is back to it's normal self. However, this only works on small stains, if you have anything bigger than the size of your hand I wouldn't suggest using it. To be honest you need to much elbow grease and I would rather go out and get a carpet cleaner and do the whole floor!!!
To sum it up, any little troublesome stains on the carpets or uphosltery, no matter how long it's been there, ...
