2nd chance is the second book in the series of the women’s murder club, by James Patterson. This is a crime thriller series where a group of women from different professions join up to hunt killers. The book is told from their points of view, as well as the killers, and centres mainly on Lindsay Boxer, the only woman detective in San Francisco.
This book is co authored by Andrew Gross, possibly the best co author James has worked with.

This book is the sequel to 1st to Die which ended with the heroine, San Francisco cop Lindsey Boxer, in despair at the death of her lover and on the verge of suicide. If you’ve read the first book you know what the Women’s Murder Club is, for those who haven’t it’s a group of Lindsey’s friends who are loosely connected to crime (a DA, a journalist, a medical examiner) who share their thoughts on Lindsey’s case as an aid to solving it. It’s an interesting ... ...crime at hand. Lindsey uses them again to solve the current case, which begins with a seemingly random killing. As the murders progress however it gradually becomes clear that they are all linked.
It’s very difficult to write about any book to balance one’s opinion on how it’s written and give readers an idea of the storyline without giving the whole plot away, which I don’t want to do. With this book it’s particularly difficult because the plot ...

Advantages: Good read, a woman as the main character Disadvantages: Finishes too quickly
This is yet again another great book from James Patterson. It makes a change to have a woman as the main character and I think that makes the book more appealing to female readers and also a bit more believable!?
This is the follow up to 1st To Die where you were first introduced to Lindsay Boxer.
Lindsay, is San Francisco's only female homicide detective and she makes her comeback in this explosive follow up in the Murder Club Series.
After the ... ...whether she is returning to the same field of work, but suddenly a little girl is shot outside a San Francisco church, and Lindsay knows that this is her calling. She works with a reporter Cindy Thomas, DA Jill Bernhardt and medical examiner Claire Washburn.
Lindsay starts to track the mysterious killer who is quickly turning his pursuers into his victims.
A series of further murders makes them all think that this is an police person, the clues ...

Advantages: Page turner! Plot changes, fast paced Disadvantages: They are never as good as the original (1st to die) :P
Here's the second Women's Murder Club mystery (after the splendid 1st to Die). Let's get this out of the way up front: there may be a co-writer listed on the cover - Gross has apparently worked with Patterson before, as a researcher - but you won't find any sign of him inside. From start to finish, the book reads like pure Patterson. I suspect the co-author credit was a last-minute addition to the book: the uncorrected galley circulated for review ... ...has only Patterson's name; the copyright page mentions only Patterson; and, on the back cover, Gross's name doesn't appear anywhere. All right, enough of that. Let's talk about the book. Well, the premise of this series is rather implausible: San Francisco homicide detective Lindsay Boxer gets together with her friends - a newspaper reporter, an assistant district attorney, and a medical examiner - to solve the cases that her own police department ...

2nd Chance by James Patterson
This is the second novel by James Patterson and co written with Andrew Gross involving the Women’s Murder Club.
The first book ended with Lindsay in despair over the death of her lover and the illness that was trying to kill her. But Lindsay Boxer is back as the first Women Lieutenant of the San Francisco Homicide Squad. The novel opens with a shooting at a church in a predominantly black area of San Francisco killing ... ...the serial killer but it is the first of note to the Homicide Squad. There is a killer on the loose who wants to kill black cops or those involved with black cops. The storyline is involved and I didn’t want to put it down. This gives you an inside into Lindsay’s personal life and a better understanding of her personality and how she grew up with a father who left her mother when he was needed most and how when her father comes back into her life ...

Advantages: great murder mystery, keeps you hooked! Disadvantages: slow starting
I am very very impressed with this book. It is the second in the Womens Murder Club and it is fantastic. LT Boxer homicide takes on the case of a serial killer and through twists and turns of the various evidence and the use of her lawyer and forensic friends she solves the case! You will be surprised at the outcome, like most James Pattersons books. Reccomended reading for all. Gripping, fast (once you get into it) and keeping you on the edge of ...

Advantages: It is a good and easy read and well worth the time Disadvantages: end was a bit short for the buid up nevertheless a good read
This book is well written as all james patterson books are and with Andrew Gross co writting its well worth a read.
The story follows on from the prevous book 1st to die where four women create the women's murder club to solve a murder with Lynsey Boxer San Franciseco's only woman homicide detective. Cindy Thomas a reporter, assistant D.A Jill Bernhardt and an medical examiner Claire Washburn they use there skills to track down a cold blooded killer ... ...a hidden agenda.
I really enjoyed this book and it was a good follow on from frist to die the reamergence of her farther after all them years and the lost of her in the first book it creates a real up and down rollacoster ride of emotions which is felt right through the book. ...
