Advantages Advantages A great range of services and facilities

Disadvantages Disadvantages None as yet (after 3 years use)

3's price packages change every year, at the time of writing this review Videotalk 500 offers you 400 minutes of calls and 100 text messages; however please bare in mind that within the next 6 months this will change. As a result of this I'm focusing more on the network. At the time of writing this the 500 plan costs £30 per month. 3 gets a lot off grief simply because people don't understand the network, if you flick through other reviews under this heading you'll find one thing in common they all comment on the network coverage however none of them elaborate on this common gripe. So lets ... more

Advantages Advantages 500 mins is good unless you're a mobile junkie, decent quality calls

Disadvantages Disadvantages Coverage isn' brilliant, customer servives are foreigners again!!!

I swore, after my horrendous experience with their PAYG service (see my op), that I'd never go with 3 again. Then when my contract was up for renewal in March my fiancée made a rather generous offer to get me a contract for my birthday. I wanted to fo back with O2 as I've never had any real problems and I like the fact they have British call centres. Anyway I wasn't going to be footing the bill so she signed me up to the VideoTalk 500 tarriff. For this you get 500 free cross network minutes and 100 free texts and as I'm not really a mobile junkie this was a decent deal. The phone I chose with ... more

    4 Stars Three Review 02/08/2005

Advantages Advantages Good value (500 mins @ £25 = 5p/min for CROSS NETWORK!), No problems with reception (can always get 3G or 2G), And did I say good value?

Disadvantages Disadvantages Haven't got total 3G coverage yet, Customer Service is poor

I have been with Hutchinson Three for 2 years now and can definitely recommend them. One of the things the detractors raise about Three is handsets, that argument is now very much out of date. When I first became a Three customer in 2003 I had an NEC e606 handset, one of the first generation 3G handsets for use on Three. This was very problematic - bulky and many dropped calls, but this is always to be expected with new technology. Thankfully, the handsets have improved in leaps and bounds and now are on a par and if not considerably better than the ordinary GSM handsets. For instance, the ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent free talktime and text package

Disadvantages Disadvantages coverage not good, expensive calls after free mins used

I purchased an LG8110 on the 3 network after seeing an offer providing unlimited free texts for the 1st 3 months, 500 free cross-network talk minutes and half price line rental for the 1st 8 months (normally £25 a month. THE PHONE: The phone itself was actually free with the package. The phone slightly resembles a samsung and contains a camera, video camera and mp3 player. It also has the standard features such as predictive text messaging, polyphonic (or is it multiphonic now) ringtones, colour screen etc. As other people have mentioned, I found the reception terrible though this has recently ... more

Advantages Advantages 500 xnet minutes and 100 text for only £30

Disadvantages Disadvantages Call centre routed to Mombai, they blame shift all the time!

First of all, I've been with 3 for as long as they've been around. In the formative years, the quality of calls and video was atrocious. however in the last coupl eof years they seem to have pulled their socks up and upgraded their call quality. Or that Three are now using more O2 transmitters than before to improve coverage. I've been on this tariff for around 2 years now. Initially I chose this tariff as it offered the best bundle of minutes and text available crossnet for the price - and it still rivals with other provider's tariffs now! I've never had a problem with the calls. However when ... more

Advantages Advantages Good coverage, Lots of anytime, any network free minutes, great free phone

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

I joined 3 (pay monthly) from T-Mobile pay as you go 6 months back. I am completely satisfied with their service, the free phone and the tariff. I think they provide one of the cheapest tariffs. Yet the service is very good. I used the phone in South, South-East and South West region and never had any coverage issue. I went to Scotland for a few days and did not have any coverage problem there either. It works fine even in fast moving train/bus/car. I can also browse internet or send MMS (by paying extra as these are not included in the free time) without any problem. I pay £15 for free 500 ... more

Advantages Advantages Great phones, Free minutes, Free text messaging. Cheap too!!!

Disadvantages Disadvantages So far, for me, None!!!

I joined three two months ago against all the advice of the people that seem to know about three. Am i glad i didn't listen!! I was told that the reception is poor, customer services are not much good and the phones are not much good, either. I cannot agree with any of these statements. Firstly,i have had the need to contact customer services on a couple of occasions and have always been dealt with on a professional, informative and friendly basis. Secondly, whenever i have used my phone, i have always had full service with no interruptions and no break in reception. In fact, i get five bars ... more

Advantages Advantages 500, free minutes and cheap line rental

Disadvantages Disadvantages Unhelpful Customer Services, no free texts

I am now into my 3rd month with this company and what a 3 months it has been. When I was looking for a new phone this offer was just too much for me to resist, I would get a free Nokia 7600 Video phone, 500 free minutes to any network any time of the day and loads of accesseries including BlueTooth all for £9.99 per month. Now there was no other package out there that offered so much for so little at that time and now 3 are offering the same package for around £4.99 per month on the internet so i'm sure they are still un-beatable on price. The trouble is as I have come to find, it's not always ... more

Advantages Advantages loads of mins no peak times to any network

Disadvantages Disadvantages only 3 phones to chose from and really really bad customer services

When I originally wrote this review I was very happy i had been with 3 couple of months and they offered all the good stuff below what they didn't tell me that after the 3 months i wasn't going to be able to change or choose which option i preferred at all. They also didn't tell me that after approx 3 months the phone would start to sound as if you were standing by a waterfall to the unfortunate person on the other end and if i wanted to hear them i had no hope! I also don't ever hear the phone ring on max volume and yet i feel it vibrate or even hear that from a different room so i never ... more

Advantages Advantages Great value traiffs, Phones are getting better, Clear bills, Coverage is on the increase

Disadvantages Disadvantages None that i can say

Well what can I say about Three Networks! Lots I think, some of it may have been said before and some may not have been said before. Well I have now been with Three, for 12 months. And I can say what a great 12 months it has been, I started off with my LG8110 phone, nice little phone it was, seeing that a lot of the others phones were really big. So no being with them for 12months, I have just had a free upgrade to the new LG8138, and this phone is even better than my last and also has longer battery life. Anyway let's get onto what you need to know. The network coverage, well 12 months ago ... more
