Advantages: good value, plenty of features, great space saver Disadvantages: the drier is not a patch on a stand alone machine
...Don't get me wrong, the AEG is a very well put together machine that does what it's supposed to do - wash and then dry your laundry. The problem is that it doesn't perform these combined tasks as well as single function machines. A house move left us with little option but to get rid of our Bosch washer and Hotpoint drier and we opted for the AEG L16830 on the back of consumer recommendations. It looks good, it's easy to install, it's incredibly ... ...the spin cycle. The AEG also has a balance detection device to prevent vibration during spinning. There are a couple of nice touches with the AEG's control panel including a sensitive setting which reduces the intensity of the wash and a time saver setting for lightly soiled items. You can also change a programme once the cycle has started using the pause facility. The machine comes with a three compartment drawer for detergent and fabric softeners.

Advantages: Actually dries clotthes, gentle on fabics, great cleaning, thorough rinsing, super quiet/almost silent Disadvantages: none
...UK. But, that said, this AEG Washer/dryer made me completely happy with its performance and robustness.
First of all, the machine gets clothes clean beautifully and gently. It dries them beautifully - I could not believe it was a condenser dryer, it was just that good!
The machine is exceptionally quiet. Except for the final minute of so of the 1600 speed spin, the machine is so silent you have to look to see if it is running. This is a major bonus ... ...love you, or at least never complain about it.
I dry clothes to store dry and they come out warm, fluffy, fresh, clean, and -almost a miracle - largely uncreased. I find it does a complete wash and dry cycle in much less time than our old Zanussi machine did.
This is also the only front opening machine I have ever seen that lets you open the front load door to put extra laundry in or take out as long as there's no water or the water level is below ...

Advantages: Quiet, well built, lots of USEFUL features Disadvantages: none
...at £1000 and this AEG L16830 as second choice for £483. For a £500 saving we went for the AEG as it had a larger load capability and there did not seem to be much difference in the Which? score. Like all of the machines reviewed they said the rinse was poor (The Miele was satisfactory) but there is a facility where you can set the machine to give an extra rinse permanently - so that is what we did.
It is sooooooooooo quiet coampared to our 13 year ... ...it spins (upto 1600 rpm which is really fast) the noise is still good. The countdown clock lets you know how long to go - useful if you want to go out and hang it all out before.
You can also set it to start working in 10 mins, 20 mins etc. upto 24 hours in the future so can use cheap electricity or just have it on at 5.00 in the morning and it will be ready to put on the line before you go to work.
The washing seems good and we have only used ...

Advantages: big drying load capacity, space saving, intuitive programmes, variety of programmes Disadvantages: none so far
When my old washer-dryer broke, I did a lot of research before replacing it with this one. I can honestly say that it has been a superb experience from start to finish. One of my concerns was that some people had mentioned the confusing number and configuration of buttons and programmers. I found that, if you just used common sense and ignored most of the written instructions, it was easy as pie. I have found all functions work beautifully. There ...

Quick review of AEG L16830
Positive: Can go straight from a wash to drying
tells you how long it has left
has a time saver function
most ecenomical and environmentally friendly machine
Negative: The drying cycle causes major fluff build up and the door, seal and filter require to be cleaned every time. we have to run a rinse cycle after every dry cycle. Also it totally chewed and ruined our cloth nappies which were just terry towels.
Overall: Not sure if it is my washing liquid (ecover) or the machine but our clothes just dont get clean enough. Especially my one year old girls body suits. Its a shame becasue the features on this machine are great and the choices of cycles are numerous. ...
