Computers now are more demanding and need more speed/power to keep up with performance games and software. Dual core work as two CPU cores which increases performance, it is the equivalent of getting two processors in one. In a dual core processor each core handles data simultaneously to increase efficiency. This processor would be for users who are after 'power' in thier computer. I own this product and it runs like a dream, it has never crashed ... ...all the recent high demanding games such as crysis as long as you have a good graphics card to go with it. This is an excellent processor, works great. You can raise his speed but you will need a thermoelectric cooler (it reaches around 50 degrees C). Anyway with enough RAMs you can use any application. ;) ...
