Asus for me are the best MB maker anyway.. their range of features and board support are excellent... and this MB based on the VIA KT600 chipset is another top notch product from ASUS :)
Overclockers dream.... you can twiddle all the essentials, bus spead, vcore, multiper ( 1 MHz steps) , etc, etc.
Coupled with a pleathora of very usefull features (LAN, USB, SATA , RAID)... this makes a great start for a budget PC.
The ... ...feature packed MB, IMO.
One thing in general and of no detrement to ASUS or this product... anyone attempting to build a PC... you must wear an ESD wrist band!... if you dont know what one is then get searching.
Thoroughly recommended for all budget pc builds :) ...

Advantages: Has a cool led on it. Disadvantages: RAM slot 1 is V. close to the AGP port
Im always fiddling and changing things on my computer. This has 400FSB which means good potential for CPU overclocking. Sata, RAID and more USB ports than you can shake an IDE cable at. 6 PCI (which you only get on more expensive boards) means more room for expansion/GRFX coolers. Only single downside to this is that the slot 1 RAM can only be put in when the GRFX card is taken out, but really apart from that minor exception this is an excellent ... ...in the first place). There is an LED on it which lights when the power lead is plugged in which is useful when regularily opening it up. There is also 6channel sound so you dont need a 5.1 card, however if you need high quality sound for producing music then get a separate one. It seems to be faster than most because on a benchmark with a friend I had the same GFX, a slower CPU (so only 266fsb) and this mobo I still wiped the floor with him. ...
