...I've been a fan of ASUS for a while and I've had no problems with their VIA range so I stuck with it.
Checking on the ASUS website I found this baby, and with a unique VIA chipset which supported Dual Channel PC3200, this had to be a goody.
The features on this board are pretty standard, Gigabit Ethernet, AGP 8x, SATA etc but it was for gaming so I wasn't so obsessed about RAID or firewire. I also have a A8V Deluxe, which has more functionality ... ...was no chore and although the site goes down from time to time, with a downloader tool it comes down with some haste.
I had some issues with the BIOS, it conficted with my graphics card, but with the online assistance I managed to sort it.
Also, the memory can only handle 2 slots of double sided PC3200 which I found out to my horror when I upgraded from 2x 512MB kits to a 1GB kit and a 512MB kit. The support guy suggested a BIOS revision, which ...
