Advantages: Stability, Overclockingfriendly & also Dirtcheap Disadvantages: Not really only minor annoyances
...for singlesided & DS for Doublesided, diodes & thermistors are sensors on the motherboard that usually measures temperatures.
The overall value/buildquality of this board as with all other ASUS boards I have ever owned is IMO close to flawless.
I can highly recommended this s939 pci-e motherboard to any AMD64 s939 CPU/PCI-E graphicscard owners except perhaps the extreme overclockers or those who wants to run dual graphiccards.
As I bought this board quite a while ago, so there should probably be newer/better alternatives out now I´m not sure which ones though.
Oh I almost forgot it´s also fully 32/64-bit compatible. (I haven´t tested Vista on it though).

...Cool 2. It is a series of fan-less heatsinks on the various chipset chips connected by a pipe. The Heat Pipe design effectively directs the heat generated by the chipsets to the heatsink near the back IO ports, where it can be carried away by existing airflow from CPU fan. This ensure efficient cooling without generating any noise.
OVERCLOCKING:
ASUS tends to use the Phoenix AwardBIOS with their motherboards, and the Striker Extreme board is no exception to that rule. The BOIS provides very easy and extensive settings to tweak the motherboard at your heart content. The AI NOS can overclock your processor from 3 to 10% without going into the BIOS. The AI Booster has overclocking options for the gamer from 115% to 120%.
