ATS well advertised,yes, a large company, yes, good reputation, reliable and honest? Answer NO. Well that is my humble opinion. I recently owned a small citroen AX motor car and the exhaust started to corrode, blow me I thought, the exhaust was only fitted by ATS in High Wycombe less than four months ago! ...had my car in at ATS in Altrincham for a shock absorber, being the only place that could it, as the other usual chain garages refused to quote for it for some reason (BMW Z3 2.8) . Initial thoughts were that the place looked generally derelict, I turned up early and spoke to an uncheery person to be told that the garage opened up at 8.30am not 8.00am. I haven't ever had to have anything major done by ATS, and from reading some of the other opinions perhaps I would think differently if I had. However, in my dealings with them I have been very impressed. They do free vehicle checks, and if they don't find anything wrong, you don't pay anything. Although a lot of places say the prices of their stock cannot be beaten and you cant find cheaper, you can at Ebley tyres. Their cheapest new tyres are cheaper than a lot of their competitors remoulds. With Ebley they do the job you ask them to without saying that you need this that and the other done as well. If they do notice something you get a very polite "you know blah blah will need doing soom". I find when I want that done I will go to ...

If they havent got what you are after in stock they will get it for you from one of their other outlets. It will be got for you not in a matter of days but hours. i went to ATS ashbourne, and arived at about 8am one morning. the depot was shut and the sign on the wall said opening times (8.30), i needed a punture (nothing compaired to the above customer) at 8.05 the shutters were opened and a middle aged chap came out with a large display. as soon as he saw me he asked if he could help, i explained i had a puncture and he invited me stright in to the depot. i would say within 15 mins and before the 8.30am opening time i was on my way to work, this chap opened up got me in and booked me out before anyone else turned up, he was cheerful, helpfull and extremly quick i will be going back when i need to. ...

I went to the Northampton branch of ATS and had quick, professional, helpful and friendly service. Thank you Jason and James. Before going there I'd had to ring 4 other ATS depots in the area to find the tyres I needed (a funny size and spec so not ATS's fault) and every time the person who answered was polite, helpful and friendly. I'd looked at this site beforehand and was expecting the worst so well done ATS. PS. A note for Ciao - whatever company you deal with the service you get will depend on the individuals you deal with. One bad depot doesn't necessarily reflect badly on all of them - so make sure reviewers say where they went and help customers and the company. ...

using the very poor rating for this garage is an understatement. i took my Clio 2 weeks ago for an MOT and Service, when this was completed as i was driving off there was a funny noise coming from inside the car so i took it back and it appeared that they had dropped a tool in the car and just left it, during that next week my car had been leaking oil which it hadnt done before so i took it back and they said they had put the wrong washer on, this wasted my time and petrol to getting there now it appears the car is still leaking so i will have to go back again :( incompetent springs to mind ...

I use my local kwik fit in staffordshire on a regular basis, having a small fleet of vehicles. The guys there are not only polite, but very knowledgeable. Always managing to match my needs. Never have i left there feeling ripped off. Anything that needs replacing is always explained thoughly to me. Several times old parts have been offered to me to take away for a second opinion. Alot of people harp on about "second hand" or "part worn" tyres, just ...
...As to kwik fits prices, were you aware that all kwik fits have a "price match" policy? Try them after you have shopped around. You could get the bet of both worlds, cheaper tyres and exhausts and the standards of expertise and service you expect from a national company. ...
