    Jeffrey Archer - A prisoner of birth. This is a fantastic book, and not having read any of Jeffrey Archer books, i was reluctant to even give this a go. I was wrong, this book was gripping in every way and I couldnt put it down. I also didnt want it to end and read the last few chapters quite slowly. Without giving to much away, this book is based around a character called Danny Cartwright, Danny proposed to his love of his life without nowing that day would become one of the worst days of his life, he was arrested and charged with the murder of his best friend Bernie who was also his ... more

    The Story *************** A prisoner of birth tells the story of Danny a mechanic who is accused and convicted of murdering his best friend, who also happens to be his fiancees brother. The only problem is that he did not do it, but all the witnesses said he did. Danny is sentenced to 22 years and sent to Belmarsh prison, lucky for Danny he finds himself under the wing of an ex army officer who has a remarkable affect on Danny's future.     Within minutes into the book, i was drawn with an insatiable need to know the outcome. The book tells the story of Danny, a mechanic wrongly sent to prison for supposedly killing his best friend. Ridiculous as it sounds, he whiles his time away in jail and you can't help but think to yourself 'will he sit here quietly despite his innocence?' The answer is thankfully no, for as a series of somewhat fortunate incidents occur, he is able to leave the prison early, almost for good behaviour.
