I'm one of those people who find it hard to live without the latest gear when it comes to computers, but I'm also really cautious when it comes to managing a budget. I tend to save up a few hundred pounds every few months and blow it all on upgrading my PC. My PC is to me, what a brand new Golf GT Sport is to a boy racer.

Two months down the line and the monitor has only developed one lit pixel, which is so small and discreet, I'm not sure if it was there when I bought the monitor and hadn't noticed. It is very good monitor for its value. The installation was a charm, even without stopping my PC - i have unplugged the VGA cable to my old LG LCD monotir (19" with no DVI) and plugged the DVI cable and power to my new AL2216Wsd and I yet was a widescreen. Just need to set the new resolution of 1680x1050 and to lower the initial contrast/brightness via monitor's menu.
Cons are typical to all TN+Films - bleeding from aside and 16.2M colors. But I was surprised the colors is not bad.
Other confusion is the cheap mounting and no height adjustment. It is too lower. Ant the stand is not stable. ...

Advantages: 16.2m million colour TFT display, easy to use, great for gaming, wonderful contrast ratio Disadvantages: A faster response time would make it THE ULTIMATE monitor for gaming
...spread the word of the Acer brilliance packed in the AL2216W as my family and mates keep telling to shut up raving about it so here I am and these are my words on the AL2216W. For the record, it ain't cheap at £199.99 but you can't put a price on perfection and I would happily pay twice that for the AL2216W.
The monitor is widescreen and has a resolution of 1680x1050. With a contrast ratio of 700:1, the picture is sharp and really vibrant. Gaming ... ...the graphics more fluid.
Adjusting the height of the screen, connecting it to the PC and making changes to brightness and display position could not be made any easier by Acer and that combined with the awesome display makes this one massive thumbs up from me. Well done Acer. ...

The Screen is perfect. It uses either dvi or vga. The max resolution is 1680 x 1650 and contains an auto adjustment system to optimize the screen for graphics(which emphasizes colour) or movies(maintains colour yet slightly dimmer than graphics).
