Advantages: Large Hard Drive and RAM, fast ,good range of features Disadvantages: No anti glare screen ,keys a little small lack some positiveness
...and eventually I chose the Acer Aspire 2920 Which I paid £460 for by shopping around
About the Acer 2920
By laptop standards it might not be the smallest or lightest available but do not let that deter you from giving it due consideration so what do you get for your money
At first view you get a stylish looking piece of equipment it has a glossy black finish which makes a change a lot seem to be a silver /grey colour
When you lift the lid you ... ...for most films.
Have Acer got it right and is there room for improvement?
The short answer to both of these questions is yes. For the money they have packed in considerable impressive qualities
What I think needs improvement
What I would like to see is the gloss screen replaced by an anti glare screen the standard screen can be a bit difficult if you are in bright sunlight as it is rather susceptible to glare which is a strain on the eyes.
My ...

Advantages: Light, Powerful, very good screen for the size, Stylish look, keys feel good Disadvantages: No built in Bluetooth, Cant find a case to fit it properly, Needs a cigarette lighter charger
I puchased my Acer 2920 last year (2008) because of its small size and powerful promise.... I needed a pc that was light, very portable & easily stowable as I travel constantly and have to deal with e-mail, manage my database, design advertisements and create flyers while on the move. I use cross channel ferryboats every week and this gives me a lot of time to compute onboard. I made the right choice with the Acer 2920 and I just hope that when i ... ...and this is my forth Acer laptop. My Acers in my opinion have been better, but I aso appreciate that technology has moved on since my first 386 B/W Tosch !
I carry it about in an old Targus case, because i cant seem to find a snug case that it can fit into properly, there are lots of 15" cases but no 12" cases in our local pc shops. I now see 10" cases for the Acer 'one' and such, but no 12".
It has a Bluetooth button, but no bluetooth. While it ...

...hrs of real use. The Acer software seems easy to use and useful. I read in a review that the keyboard area looks like a kids toy, I think that's a bit harsh but i can see what they mean. Funny to think a few years ago you'd struggle to get a laptop with a screen bigger than 14", and now you pay a premium to get one with a screen smaller than 14"! Anyway, overall very pleased and would recommend. ...

My friend has this one and I was amazed by its stuff and mass. It's 250 GB is sufficient for an entertainment use, could store a jackpot of media files. And what would be the result if you install a latest Ferrari engine in a Porsche, and that is my impression on its memory and Processor. All sports car's do have some handling problems, this one's keys, some are small, got to adjust if you are a expert in typing without seeing the board, otherwise ... ...keep my laptop on power when using, most do and at the most I use for a maximum of 3 hours on battery alone, so this is the average battery life and this one has a battery charge life of 3.5 hours and bit more. And you find all the ports and other connection features present, hardly anything is missed. I felt it's a very good compact laptop, you may check it out before deciding. ...

Advantages: compact, protable, good looking, easy to use Disadvantages: sometimes the screen feels a bit fragile,
I have had the ACER ASPIRE 2920 for 2 years now and i have had no probolems with it so far. It works fast, its looks fab, I think it works at a very good speed and it does the job I bought it for. At the moment I have been writing a lot of essays on it and the keyboard is just the right size for a small computer. I was worried because it was that bit smaller than other laptops that the keyboard would be too small but its perfect. The other worry ... ...expencive but i use it everyday and it has just shown to me everyday that its worth the money. I would recomend this little laptop to anyone, its protable but that does not effect its performance. If your looking for a compact laptop i would recomend the ACER ASPIRE 2920. ...
