...My sister has an Acer 3682WXMi, and I really didn't think much of it, but I am mighty impressed with this one! It's a tad smaller and lighter and easier to carry around with me. Phoned ACER up who informed me it was down to it being dropped or something being put on top of it, which is not what happend the lines just appeared as someone was working on them and got worse. I've had this laptop for over a year now (A year and a half) and have encountered no significant problems whatsoever. Let me just fill in some detail here: I use this laptop for around 5 hours (usually more) every day. That's a lot of usage for a year and a half. The display is sharp and clear whilst and case is durable with a good feel keyboard (better than the Toshiba we use which cost a great deal more). The processor speed is good, it can handle a number of applications, curently running a virus check whilst writting this with no slowdown or breaks. I had one of these and i had another fault. My hard drive controller failed so i was without it for 3 weeks while i sent it back. When i received it back i had no hard drive in the laptop. :( i then called them and told them it had been in and my hard drive had went missing. i was told they dont just go missing you must have taken the hard drive out. i stated to them that i didnt because it was being repaired under warrenty. I ended up buying a new one. dont buy this product all it will do is break. ...

I have had this Acer 5050 laptop for around 6 months now and it has impressed me with the amount of features it has for the price. Windows Vista Home Premium was included as standard and this proved a little troublesome at first when tranferring Windows XP programs from my old computer over but this has now been fixed with numerous upgrades from Microsoft. Purchased from Comet for £399.00 with 80gb hard drive, 1024 mb and Windows Vista. I really like this practical laptop! It's compact 14.1" screen is really big enough, the quality of graphics is excellent.
