So, the review of the Acer Aspire 5315. This laptop is a good machine. From my experience it works well and not is too complicated to work for all those new to laptop technology. The laptop is of course an Acer and in the past Acer's have been credited for being quite bad computers and this one is sort of in the middle of bad and great... Personal Experience I've owned this laptop since the Christmas of 08' which is now a year owned right? Well at least I think it is, anyway, the laptop is great at what it does. The screen is nice and bright and adjustable to the surrounding light meaning the ... more

Advantages Advantages nice screen, good keyboard

Disadvantages Disadvantages too many faults to this

I cannot believe after having my laptop now for a good few years that I have not even reviewed it yet. The laptop is one I purchased through the internet as my beautiful Sony Vaio got a deadly virus and broke down one year leaving me laptopless and desperate. Obviously, being a student at the time, I didn’t have a lot of money so had to go for something relatively cheap. I had briefly heard of Acer before but was taking a big risk buying a laptop of theirs as I wasn’t sure exactly how good this would be. SPECIFICATIONS The basics of the laptop to start off with are the main features it arrived ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, good value, Easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages Horrible Appearance, heavy, bulky

After knocking a full cup of tea over my laptop (and destryoing the insides completely) I claimed on my insurance and was sent an Acer Aspire 5315. It costs around £300 to buy in the shops, placing it at the bottom end of the price range for laptops at the moment, which vary from £300 to over £1000. Basically the laptop comes with 1GB memory and 80GB hardrive. It has a 15'' screen and built in wireless technology. APPEARANCE It's quite bulky and very heavy, with the top half (screen and back of the screen) being black and the keyboard being a horrible grey colour. Personally I'm not keen on ... more

Acer Aspire 5315 I got my acer 5315 as part of a deal from the carphone warehouse with a mobile phone contract, so i won't say it was free because I have an 18 month contract to pay for, but it was a really good deal!! Having shopped around a bit they cost around £270-£300 to buy. I'm no computer whizz and just wanted a reliable laptop to do my work and access the internet on, this is ideal. I had never heard of acer until my boyfriend got one of their laptops last year and i've been using his since, so am now familiar with the brand and like it. This particular model has a 15.4'' CrystalBrite ... more

I got this for a christmas present, after my old Laptop got broke. Acer are quite a good company, and sell quite a lot of good laptops and this Aspire 5315 is idel for someone who just want's to use Microsoft Office or browse the internet. But if your looking to chat away on msn, listen to music and browse the Internet all at the same time. I would strongly recomend going for a bigger and better laptop. Don't get me wrong this Aspire 5315 does do well playing games such as Rollercoaster Tycoon and Counter Strike.. Now let's move onto the Keyboard. The keys on the keyboard are not that very ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not a long battery

Last Christmas my parents bought me this Laptop for my studies and for general use. This Laptop has been brilliant, i have knocked it off the table (by accident) and it was absolutly fine. It is slim, looks smart and easy to use. It has a very clear 15.4inch screen and an 80G ram. I have stored 4000 songs, and many many photos on here and it is still running as fast and clear as it did when I first got it. The price for this Laptop was bery good, it came to £350 which is very good for such high quality. It comes with games, and you can personalise it to make it personal to your taste, such as ... more

Advantages Advantages Looks great, not too expensive, perfect for home/work.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not good for games, loose items on laptop, rushed instructional booklet.

This is a laptop that's rating soley depends on what the laptop would be used for; for example, this laptop is not sufficient enough for the latest games, yet it works fine as a work accompanient and indeed, a home workstation: it even performs well as a video/music device. Set up is very fast and the system is very reliable (excusing Vista's slow response times) and has never broken down on me for the year I have owned it. The price is also good and is perfect for work, video, music and other tasks - as I have already mentioned, it's not suitable for gaming. However, there are some downpoints ... more
