Software to enable you to watch DVD's (ACER ARCADE) and burn CD's.

Acer Aspire 5315
I got my acer 5315 as part of a deal from the carphone warehouse with a mobile phone contract, so i won't say it was free because I have an 18 month contract to pay for, but it was a really good deal!! Having shopped around a bit they cost around £270-£300 to buy. I'm no computer whizz and just wanted a reliable laptop to do my work and access the internet on, this is ideal. I had never heard of acer until my boyfriend got one of ... ...is all black with the acer logo in silver in the middle. The screen surround is black and the keyboard is pale grey. The keyboard has quick keys at the top for WLAN settings and volume. It also features a green 'e' button in the top right corner, when pressed your WLAN signal and connection details and battery status come up on screen, this is quite handy. The keyboard and touch pad are both very comfortable to use and screen resolution is good.

The trial is for 30 days which is good as you can have a play about with it as you get used to the new features that Vista has compared to XP rather than worrying about having to install all your applications on straight away.

Last Christmas my parents bought me this Laptop for my studies and for general use. This Laptop has been brilliant, i have knocked it off the table (by accident) and it was absolutly fine. It is slim, looks smart and easy to use. It has a very clear 15.4inch screen and an 80G ram. I have stored 4000 songs, and many many photos on here and it is still running as fast and clear as it did when I first got it. The price for this Laptop was bery good, ... ...high quality. It comes with games, and you can personalise it to make it personal to your taste, such as colours and themes. The keys are easy to read, it doesnt make any loud whirring noises and plays music back very well. I would highly recommend it for anyone buying their first laptop, or buying it for their children. Its very good for watching films. In my opinion, its only flaw is that the battery lasts for 2 hours, but on economy mode, it can ...

Advantages: Looks great, not too expensive, perfect for home/work. Disadvantages: Not good for games, loose items on laptop, rushed instructional booklet.
This is a laptop that's rating soley depends on what the laptop would be used for; for example, this laptop is not sufficient enough for the latest games, yet it works fine as a work accompanient and indeed, a home workstation: it even performs well as a video/music device.
Set up is very fast and the system is very reliable (excusing Vista's slow response times) and has never broken down on me for the year I have owned it.
The price is also good ... ...- as I have already mentioned, it's not suitable for gaming.
However, there are some downpoints, the keys on the keyboard can sometimes be very loose and the touchpad sometimes unresponsive - the padding on the the side of the screen also can come loose easily. Navigation of folders on the actual system can also be slow. The instruction booklet is not so helpful and seems rushed in certain places. It's also very portable, and has a sufficient hard ...

I got my Acer Aspire 5315 as the freebie laptop when I signed up for mobile broadband at the Carphone Warehouse. I knew if there was no extra cost for it it would be a lower end of the market machine, which it is, however I'm pleasantly surprised.
