Advantages Advantages It looks rather nice and it runs fast and quite smoothly.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Occasional problems with the Wi-Fi, scroll pad often doesn't work, and there's NO Caps Lock light.

Acer Aspire 5532 I never thought I would end up owning a laptop. I've never really liked them, for one I can't stand that touch pad which you use in place of a mouse, and don't start me started on the keyboard! For various reasons though I have ended up with a laptop, and it's my very first laptop. I took my time in deciding, making sure I was getting good spec for my money, and I settled on this Acer Aspire 5532 as it seemed like good value for money. The Acer Aspire 5532 has a 15.6 HD inch screen and comes with pretty good spec for the price as it features an AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core ... more

Advantages Advantages Great spec for price, numeric keypad, webcam

Disadvantages Disadvantages No caps lock light

One of my first jobs was in a computer store back in the mid-nineties. Back then laptops were reserved for those who needed to travel and not really a home user product. Needless to say you wouldn't get any change out of £1000, usually you'd need to pay a lot more than that! But now times they have a changed and the laptop is more accessible for the home user and a popular choice thanks to wireless internet. I have been using a Toshiba laptop for the past few years and it had served its purpose well. But things progress and I was needing a little more power at my fingertips. Looking around, I ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good specifications

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Small CPU power

I originally decided to buy this laptop when my old one get broke because it was outdated anyway. A soon as I got it home I was so impressed with the way it looked and its many amazingly good features. As soon as it was set up I decided to play some PC games to test out how good the graphics card, the RAM and the CPU, I wasn't expecting much from it because it only had 1.6 GHz CPU, but as soon as the game booted up, it worked perfectly no lag, no stuttering and no freezing, it played as smooth as on any other computer, and while I was playing my game I then noticed the stunning video quality ... more

Advantages Advantages looks good, easy to use, cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages speakers are too quiet, trackpad often stops working, battery isn't great

the acer aspire is a great laptop for basic computer use, and processes most jobs quickly and easily. as for the speed of the computer, i found it to be very good at coping with most things i needed to do i.e surfing the internet, processing word documents and watching videos, the only time i had problem with the laptops speed was when playing windows games although they worked they were a bit slow, but as this is not a gaming computer this was not a huge surprise. as for the look and feel of the laptop, i found it to be very simple looking which also made it very stylish, i particularly like ... more

Advantages Advantages Good value for money, Clear sceen, Relatively fast

Disadvantages Disadvantages Speakers could do better

The Aspire wasn't my first choice of laptop, however I had a financial restriction and I needed a computer fast. When I got it I was impressed by its speed and ease of use. It copes well with multi tasking and does everything I want it to do. However I do have some doubts as to how well it would cope with more advanced games, if thats your thing your probably better with a more expensive machine. One thing I would say is that the standard speakers on the laptop are not exactly top level and in my opinion it isbest listened to through headphones. The speakers are quiet, which is probably a good ... more
