Advantages: extra features, price Disadvantages: a bit basic
This acer aspire carries acers so called gemstone design. This is a new design of laptop from acer and is being used in more and more of their laptops because of its popularity with customers. I however think its great, its black and cream colour, with a lovely glossy lid looks cool and very neat and tidy. Also what I like about this Is its clearly ... ...and it clearly represents their company. a lot of laptops from other manufacturers just look the same as others and you cant tell what brand they are, this however, much like the look of apples imacs you can tell they belong to which company.
The laptop is of an average size, its 36.6 cm wide, 27.4 cm in length and is 4.3 cm in height. So its not really the thinnest laptop ever and in my opinion the base of this one seems a bit too chunky for the ...

Advantages: Small, good looking, light & easy to use Disadvantages: None
...on these things. The Acer range came very highly recommended and now owning one myself I carry on the good reports!
I've had laptops at work and also used friends some of which have been slightly ugly, bulky or square and boring lookin, this I'm pleased to say is none of the above. The screen is crystal clear, the keys are smooth and light on your fingers but not over sensitive, it's also light and good looking. The battery will last for approx ... ...Ofcourse you can continue to use it whilst charging.
The technical part: works on Windows Vista (Word & Excel etc are slightly different if you are used to XP etc but surprinsinly easy to adjust to). Intel Cerelon processor and wireless technology.
You get a 15.4" crystalbrite LCD screen (which is as it says) and a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixals.
1GB internal memory, DVD/CD drive and two built in speakers.

Advantages: very fast, big screen, cheap Disadvantages: small memory, overheats, keys break
I have had this laptop for about 2 years now and I still really like it. However, somethings have started to break. If I use it just sitting on a table then it overheats and turns off in about 20 minutes. I have read a few other reviews that also say this. I now have to prop it up on top of some books to let the air get in.
Also the '5' has stopped working proparly. I have to press very hard to get a number.
It also takes a very long time to turn ... ...on and 3 minutes to turn off.
When I bought it I thought that it had alot of memory but it has about a third of the laptops that are being made now. It does work very quickly though, the internet and the programmes on the computer. It is quite a chunky computer but surprisingly light. The screen is very large which is great for watching DVDs on. In my opinion this laptop was a great buy a few years ago but not anymore. ...
