This machine is the actual one im writing this review on at present , I bought it in january and have used it ever since It comes with a lot of pre loaded software such as a trial version of mirco soft office 2007 which you can use for 60 days , it also comes with a full working version of microsoft works the machine also came with the windows 7 operating system all ready pre installed the 500g hard drive is big enough for me , the dvd drive is also a dvd writer and runs quite fast the amount of pre loaded software from acer can be quite annoying and being honest , i deleted the most of it ... more

Advantages Advantages Great Value for your money!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only 2 usb ports, No S-video or HDMI port

I bought this for £399 from Tesco in Jan 2010 when it was on offer, and since then I have seen various variations of the same model number (3gb Ram with 320gb or 250gb HD etc) but for the cash, I think i got the best deal. It's a great laptop with a great look and feel from a trusted Brand name. This is my second Acer (the first being the 3680 which i bought for £300 in Feb 2007) . The only down side of the 5732z is that they have skimped on some added extra's which were on my less expensive 3680 for less cash, such as a camera less USB ports (3680 had 4), a PCMCIA slot and a S-Video ... more

Advantages Advantages Headphone jack, USB, built in camera

    Disadvantages Disadvantages no HDMI

I have had my Acer for about 8 months, and have not had a single problem with it! It runs well and is not slow in connection, internet, Microsoft, etc. Having multiple programs and/or windows open and running does not slow it down. The keys are thinner buttons that click down easily and more obviously, which I like. There is also a full number keypad. The laptop is also lightweight, making transport/carrying easy. Battery life when unconnected isn't too bad, at least several hours. Unfortunately, there is no HDMI port, but it still has USB ports and headphone jack. Also has built in camera. It ... more

Advantages Advantages None over other machines in the class - I have dells and HPs

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor sound, no webcam, fragile keyboard, LAN adapter is flaky, dreadful customer support

I bought three of these. All was well to begin with - a perfectly functional laptop for work. These were intended for office use so the lack of a webcam wasn't seen as a major issue They set up easily but were full of the usual "rubbish" being shipped on PCs that had to be cleaned off. The atheros wireless adapter is pretty solid but the LAN connection is a bit wobbly needing to be disabled/enabled a couple of times a week All was OK for about 3 months - a few niggles but then the problems started. The keyboards dismantled themselves - all of them had keys missing.- Acer charge for ... more

Advantages Advantages Price for Specification, Reliability

Disadvantages Disadvantages No Caps/Numerical Lock Indication, Really needs four USB Ports

We purchased 2 of these for Company use in January 2010, we purchased them from E-Buyer at under £400 Each. Which was within our budget. There are quite a few models of the 5732Z with different processors, memory, hard drives etc. We chose the following specification: Intel Pentium T4300 (2.1Ghz), 4Gb of Memory and 500Gb Hard Drive. These have been the best value laptops our Company has ever purchased. Reasonable overall Quality, good keyboard and starts up on Windows 7 very quickly. Good quality right size screen. Excellent on the Web and the wireless connectivity is so far trouble free. We ... more

Advantages Advantages Large Screen, Good Webcam, Speed

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only 2 USB ports, DC power adapter on left side

I stronly reccomend this laptop/computer to anyone with basic knowledge of PC technology. It is reasonably priced and i think is value for money. When logging on the speed is fast and you can have essential programs e.g. Outlook, MSN etc. to open automatically. This setting is perfect for a buisness to have specific software/hardware opened automatically. The graphics are good and the built in well functions well and is high quality. The software that comes with this laptop is also very high quality and can be bought for a large sum of money, so to be free even if just a trial is an added ... more

Advantages Advantages This is a very a good low price all

Disadvantages Disadvantages The first obvious problems are on the audio side: despite a good web cam, there's no michrophone.

My friend bought this Laptop.. and its nice.. Our other friends like it too.. The others musrt try to buy this also.. The resolution was awesome.. It also have nice features.. Its also a user friendly laptop.... This is a very a good low price all-rounder - fast, very good screen and extras included such as a good qulity web cam. Also, an apparently well designed hardware set up along with the trouble free Windows 7 mean that slow operations and crashes almost never happen. the screen viewing experience and gives the impression of a larger screen than it is and with 3 gb of memory with windows ... more

Advantages Advantages High spec for low price tag

Disadvantages Disadvantages some may be unsure of the acer name, could have had larger hard drive

I have been searching for a new laptop for some time and could never find something in my price range that also met the spec i wanted. But then i found this, to begin with i was a little unsure about the acer brand but after some research it seemed to be a reputable name. The laptop came with the newest version on windows (Windows7) and it has 4gb memory and 320GB hard drive. Due to the size of memory this laptop is extremly quick and can multi task very easily. Shut down and start up are quick and seemless. It comes with a good range of features and windows 7 is a vast improvement to vista ... more

Advantages Advantages It has a wide range of extra features, it's a delight to the eye, and it's easy to clean.

Disadvantages Disadvantages It heats up pretty fast.

The first thing I would like to point out about this particular item is the design. I delight in looking at my laptop. It is pleasant to the eyes and my fingers fit so well on it's keyboard. In my opinion, purchasing this laptop has offered me a greater view on computers. I initially had this old, heavy, bulky computer that worked slow and couldn't handle a bunch of open applications at once. But once I came home with this new Acer Aspire and opened it, set it up and personalized it, it was like my eyes had finally opened. It was like a breath of fresh air. The speed, the capacity, the smell ... more
