would be better with built in web cam and more usb slots

Advantageslight weight , 500g hard drive , 4g memory

Disadvantagesno built in web cam or blue tooth

"...of pre loaded software from acer can be quite annoying and being honest , i deleted the most of it after a couple of days so cant really comment upon the other pre loaded soft ware I find the lap top easy to use and find the lack of web cam not a real issue , but im sure that many would find it handy to have , there is also no blue tooth functionality , which again im sure others would find handy there is only 2 USB slots which if you use a lot ..." Acer 5732z, 500gb HD, 4gb RAM, Pentium T4300 Dual Core.

AdvantagesGreat Value for your money!

DisadvantagesOnly 2 usb ports, No S-video or HDMI port

"...name. This is my second Acer (the first being the 3680 which i bought for £300 in Feb 2007) . The only down side of the 5732z is that they have skimped on some added extra's which were on my less expensive 3680 for less cash, such as a camera less USB ports (3680 had 4), a PCMCIA slot and a S-Video connection. Saying that, I can't say that I miss what's been left off but a HDMI connection would have been the icing on the cake! ..." Read review

Get the Acer!

AdvantagesHeadphone jack, USB, built in camera

Disadvantagesno HDMI

"I have had my Acer for about 8 months, and have not had a single problem with it! It runs well and is not slow in connection, internet, Microsoft, etc. Having multiple programs and/or windows open and running does not slow it down. The keys are thinner buttons that click down easily and more obviously, which I like. There is also a full number keypad. The laptop is also lightweight, making transport/carrying easy. Battery life when unconnected isn't ..." Read review

Starts well but then the problems start

AdvantagesNone over other machines in the class - I have dells and HPs

DisadvantagesPoor sound, no webcam, fragile keyboard, LAN adapter is flaky, dreadful customer support

"...of them had keys missing.- Acer charge for instructions on how to replace the keyboards !! The sound is pretty poor - not a problem for work machines but not so useful for home use Everyone has complained about the touchpad being brushed by the left thumb when typing - so the touchpads have been switched off and they all operate on mouse ..." Acer Aspire 5732Z Laptop

AdvantagesPrice for Specification, Reliability

DisadvantagesNo Caps/Numerical Lock Indication, Really needs four USB Ports

"We purchased 2 of these for Company use in January 2010, we purchased them from E-Buyer at under £400 Each. Which was within our budget. There are quite a few models of the 5732Z with different processors, memory, hard drives etc. We chose the following specification: Intel Pentium T4300 (2.1Ghz), 4Gb of Memory and 500Gb Hard Drive. These have been the best value laptops our Company has ever purchased. Reasonable overall Quality, good keyboard and ..." Read review

Acer Aspire 5732Z

AdvantagesThis is a very a good low price all

DisadvantagesThe first obvious problems are on the audio side: despite a good web cam, there's no michrophone.

"My friend bought this Laptop.. and its nice.. Our other friends like it too.. The others musrt try to buy this also.. The resolution was awesome.. It also have nice features.. Its also a user friendly laptop.... This is a very a good low price all-rounder - fast, very good screen and extras included such as a good qulity web cam. Also, an apparently well designed hardware set up along with the trouble free Windows 7 mean that slow operations and ..." Read review

Great laptop for money

AdvantagesHigh spec for low price tag

Disadvantagessome may be unsure of the acer name, could have had larger hard drive

"...a little unsure about the acer brand but after some research it seemed to be a reputable name. The laptop came with the newest version on windows (Windows7) and it has 4gb memory and 320GB hard drive. Due to the size of memory this laptop is extremly quick and can multi task very easily. Shut down and start up are quick and seemless. It comes with a good range of features and windows 7 is a vast improvement to vista. Battery life is slightly better ..." Read review

How Acer Aspire 5732Z changed my view on computers.

AdvantagesIt has a wide range of extra features, it's a delight to the eye, and it's easy to clean.

DisadvantagesIt heats up pretty fast.

"...came home with this new Acer Aspire and opened it, set it up and personalized it, it was like my eyes had finally opened. It was like a breath of fresh air. The speed, the capacity, the smell, the modern, smooth lines, it all gave me giggles. I have actually owned this computer for some time, and it has never failed me once. The big storage capacity has never been insufficient, and as a person that tends to collect all sorts of files on her computer, ..." Read review

Acer Aspire is my first and the best computer I've ever had

Advantagesdurable screen and classy look

Disadvantagesopen keyboard

"The Acer Aspire is the first laptop I have ever owned and it has worked perfectly. I haven't had any problems with the computer screen or internal parts. The keyboard keys do stick from time to time, but I should take the responsibility for that. They have an open area between the keys and so debris gets in between them and can sometimes jam them up. I live with a 40 lbs puppy and a cat, and this computer holds up to them. The cat likes to sit on ..." Read review

probably worth the money.

Advantagesdurable and survived several droppages. Perfect for a student.

Disadvantagescould be slow at times.

"My sister gave me the laptop as she was buying a new one. This one she had had for a year or two and was beginning to become a bit slow. As she was a new university student she had to have a fast laptop with alot of memory. The laptop was good. It was decent and survived a few accidental droppages. Although the screws became lose and after about 6 months the laptop just wouldn't turn on. The overall performance was decent and good. It wasn't ..." Read review

easy to navigate, worth the money paid for

Advantageseasy to navigate

Disadvantagesmay not come with Microsoft Office

"With the latest windows 7 software this laptop is easy to navigate and understand, with it's additional numeric keypad it makes processing numbers quick and easy. it's a lighweight laptop which is easy to carry around. The only problem I had was the fact that I had to buy Microsoft Office 2007 seperately as it didn't come with my laptop. The intel Pentuim precesser is used in this computer, it has a 15.6" HD screen which is great for watching films ..." Read review

Acer Aspire 5732Z has short battery life.

AdvantagesPortable, easy to use, good price.

DisadvantagesSlow, doesn't last long, low battery life.

"I have had my Acer Aspire for two years now. It has held up pretty well for a college student that keeps it on all day and all night. In my opinion the computer has a really short battery life, and after about a year it pretty much stopped holding a charge at all. It is a slow computer but is rather user friendly. I love the position of the keyboard and how easy things are to access on this computer. It is very comfortable to use and the size makes ..." Read review
