Advantages Advantages Fast, powerful computer at a great price.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Battery life is only average

When it comes to value for money, Acer seem to take a lot of beating. I had never owned an Acer laptop before buying the 5750G and had always bought products from the bigger names in computing such as Sony or HP, but when the screen on my HP 17" desktop replacement laptop failed I took a chance as the deal seemed to offer very high spec for the money. I opted for an upgrade in the processor to the i7-2630 and separate graphics chip to boost performance and the price was still less than the standard spec models from HP. Other than the normal home pc uses, I do a fair amount of digital ... more

Advantages Advantages i liked the colour of the outside cover. (nice deep blue)

Disadvantages Disadvantages poor quality. did'nt last and was irritating to no end.

I bought a brand new Acer Aspire a couple years ago. For the first 2 years it was working ok with no issues. Windows Vista was the operating system. Then for some reason it started to crash, overheat (maybe the fan went, but it sounded like it was still running) then it would crash everytime i watched a movie, or wanted to listen to a song or something on youtube. Very irritating. The keyboard is weird, i couldn't type as fast as i really wanted to because there are some really awkwardly placed special command keys in the keyb0ard, so all of a sudden i'd be typing in french, or the @ symbol ... more

Advantages Advantages Very good price compared to other laptops of the same quality, durable

Disadvantages Disadvantages Could use a bigger hard drive, but that's just my opinion.

In my honest opinion, I never thought much of this 'Acer' brand. Of course, I have never owned or used an Acer product before. I must say, I prefer this laptop over my former Dell laptop, which I paid about $1,000. There are ways, when building a computer, to get top brand parts for cheap, which is what Acer does. They don't skimp out and use generic garbage. Why is Acer a lot cheaper than HP or Dell? Well, with those top name brand computers, you're paying for exactly that; their name! For almost half the price, this laptop can compare with any of the top brands. The screen of the laptop is ... more

Advantages Advantages Fast system start, Good Company Support and easy to use.

Disadvantages Disadvantages A little heavy forr some people, my wife complained when she had to carry it.

I have owned and used an Acer Aspire for the past 5 yrs and found it to be the most robust and sound notebook that has been offered to date, I have looked at possible upgrades over the past 2 yrs but have not found ant other notebook that really compares. The system running Windows 7 works a treat and with its 500 Gb hdd there is enough space even for high usage business people. Although it is not the lightest notebook on the market it is not too heavy or bulky to carry around even without a regular laptop shoulder carrybag. I like the way I could add an external mouse as I find the touchpad ... more

Advantages Advantages Low price, cheap elements

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Boring design

Over the years I have never been disappointed from the brand "Acer". The key advantages are low price, cheap service in case something breaks, durable case shell. The one letdown that this laptop has is the design - it could have been a little bit more fancier, but it all depends on what you are going to use it for - work, games, entertainment, desktop laptop... The most important fact about this model is, that you can basically use it for all 4 mentioned, even though laptop will never (in my opinion) be better choice for gaming than a normal PC. I personally enjoyed using this 5750G as well ... more

    Advantages Advantages Bright clear screen

Disadvantages Disadvantages Speed of item is a big let down, button layout is of bad design

I recieved this Laptop in January, within hours of setting it up i could see that i was going to have to return it for a refund or a replacement. I kept getting error messages and messages on the screen saying that the internet has dissconnected when it wasn't, then the laptop just stopped responding when i clicked on icons to do tasks, the keyboard became a nightmare too as when i was typing in the search box the words were not displaying on the screen. I receved a replacement the next day and this has got the same problems not quite as severe as the last one, but when i think about ths ... more
