Acer are now the biggest selling laptop company in England and have even over taken the previous well known laptop manufacturer Dell for its laptop sales.
The main reason for this is simply because acer knows what the public need, they make great laptops designed for the publics needs but best of all they cater for everyone’s costs. =you just simply cant get a dell with anywhere near as good specification as an acer for the same price, or even ...

Advantages: classy design, 250GB hard drive, core 2 duo processor, acer technology Disadvantages: large design
...i settled comfortably with the acer aspire, as it has many advantages compared to other laptops with similar specifications.
For my course i need a lot of memory, and so the 250GB hardrive was a big attraction for me. The laptop in fact has two separate drives each with over 100GB of disk space. This allows you to separate your data appropriately, for example i keep all of my media such as music on pictures on the D drive while i install my programmes ...

Advantages: Latest technology and very cool aesthetics makes me want to eat this baby. Disadvantages: Not everything is perfect. The Aspire 5920 comes as close as I have seen
...but after playing with a Acer 5920 in a shop the other day, I have for the first time in my life fallen in love with a bit of hardware!
I am now saving like mad and intend to get one in the next few weeks.
And to those pundits in the mags slagging of its styling, clean your
specs and see some daylight, this thing is beauty incarnate. I can honestly say after trying this machine I now sneer at everything else. Wow, what an impact.
I want ...

Advantages: Cheap, looks great, quick, robust Disadvantages: sound a little quiet, no bluetooth on some models
...then I can recommend the Acer Gemstone 5920.
With 2GB of memory and a healthy speed Core Duo processor it provides more than enough power to cope easily with the usual day to day tasks, despite having the unenviable task of running Windows Vista! ;-)
The "CrystalBrite" TFT widescreen monitor gives a perfect picture whether you're wasting your evenings on Facebook/Bebo/MySpace, or watching a DVD.
The laptop can also boast surround sound speakers, ...

...a few games on the Acer and I was pleasantly suprised.
Although the speed wasnt a fast as on really high end machines the graphics speed was acceptable and would run most games without problems.
MEDIA
The Acer is a media PC and it has a great screen, although it is a little to glossy. The screen is 15.4Inches standard for a laptop of this caliber. The sound quality is very high due to the fact Acer included Dolby Surround in this laptop. Something ...

Advantages: case design that is stylish, fast processor Disadvantages: The 5920G does not have its own number pad to other desktop replacement
...(as of July 24, 2007) Acer Aspire 5920G is designed for work and entertainment. It bears Acer's tritone "gemstone" case design that is stylish, without overly ornate. The screen is prone to some glare and battery life is so-so, but the machine can be used with most types of applications.
Powered by a 2-GHz Core 2 Duo T7300 processor and configured with 2 GB of DDR2-667 SDRAM, the 5920G notched a very good World Bench 6 Beta 2-Score of 77 - a few ...

Advantages: Price / Performance Disadvantages: Dark Screen, HDDVD drive, poor battery life
Purchased through 'Amazon Warehouse' was described as 'slight cosmetic blemishes' when recieved there was nothing of the sort. Laptop was in pristine condition. Excellent value for money, but make sure that the model you purchase has the GeForce graphics chipset to make it more usuable in a modern gaming context. One of the USB connecters now seems to be faulty, however as there is 2 others this is not much of an issue. Comes with HDDVD drive which ...

Advantages: Fast, Durable, Unique Disadvantages: Overly sensitive and emits a high pitched noise
...it can be on other acer models.
You can read about the advantages of this laptop all over the net and i would agree - it is a fast capable laptop. However there are some negatives, namely:
1. if you close the lid or leave it in hibernation for too long with the lid closed, it makes an incredibly annoying high pitched continuous beep until you raise the lid. Sometimes i have had to restart it to stop the noise.
2. the microphone in the lid is ...

...always use a mouse anyway. Acer gives you plenty of useless software for you to enjoy as well which is always a good thing.
Quite stylish (once you get past the mushroom colour which I sadly quite like anyway!). I reckon it's pretty durable as well. I let the holographic back on mine get a bit scratched. Not bad battery life. Only about an hour at high performance gaming but over 3 hours on battery saver doing word processing. I've seen worse. ...

Advantages: Great value for money, NVIDIA GeForce graphics, built-in webcam and mic Disadvantages: Heavy, not the most robust laptop
Generally a very good laptop offering superb value for money. Is able to cope with numerous tasks well without slowing or freezing. The NVIDIA GeForce Graphics card makes the laptop a great value gaming laptop.
Includes a built-in webcam and microphone, great for chatting online with friends.
However, I have had a problem with a flickering screen when opened at certain angles, and the laptop is heavy, so it probably isn't the most practical ...

Advantages: Cool with style, technology, user friendly with easy understanding Disadvantages: Sensitive touch buttons, overweight,
I purchased my Acer Aspire 5920G from Comet. So much for cutting prices. The laptop itself is cool, it's fairly fast, easy to use and really portable. The 15.4" inch screen is the perfect size. The laptop comes with the useful Acer Empowering software. Highly recommended laptop, the only problems I have had is with the sometimes buggy Vista. The keyboard isn't the best but I haven't had any problems with it. the touch sensitive media buttons on the ...

I purchased my Acer Aspire 5920 laptop from PC World. No problems with the laptop but the service at PC World is appauling so I would not recommend buying the laptop from PC World. They also put the price up for the laptop three days after I purchased the laptop. So much for cutting prices.

Advantages: The price, superb bang for buck ratio, nice looks, good screen Disadvantages: graphics card (but I could still put up with it)
I bought this laptop for its reasonable price and have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The processor is very powerful for the price you pay and 2 gigabytes of RAM should suffice for all but the most hardcore video editing or virtualisation. The hard drive is also fairly capacious for a laptop. The glossy screen is excellent too although not everyone likes it.
Now, on to the drawbacks to this system. This first and most important of these being ...
