Acer are now the biggest selling laptop company in England and have even over taken the previous well known laptop manufacturer Dell for its laptop sales.
The main reason for this is simply because acer knows what the public need, they make great laptops designed for the publics needs but best of all they cater for everyone’s costs. =you just simply cant get a dell with anywhere near as good specification as an acer for the same price, or ... ...any of acers laptops but acer is cheaper for good quality too which make them a fantastic computing company.
The design of this laptop is one that some people hate and some people love, I quite like it, its called acers gemstone in that it kind of looks gem shaped as its curved and its also a nice white shape like a gem.

...i settled comfortably with the acer aspire, as it has many advantages compared to other laptops with similar specifications.
For my course i need a lot of memory, and so the 250GB hardrive was a big attraction for me. The laptop in fact has two separate drives each with over 100GB of disk space. This allows you to separate your data appropriately, for example i keep all of my media such as music on pictures on the D drive while i install my programmes ... ...a button to start an acer media programme that allows you to burn cd's and make dvd's etc. The properties of the buttons can be altered to set the sensitivity, so that you dont accidentally press them just by brushing over them. This works quite effectively, however with mine set to low sensitivity i still sometimes find that i unintentionally open the cd/dvd maker which can sometimes be quite irritating.

...then I can recommend the Acer Gemstone 5920.
With 2GB of memory and a healthy speed Core Duo processor it provides more than enough power to cope easily with the usual day to day tasks, despite having the unenviable task of running Windows Vista! ;-)
The "CrystalBrite" TFT widescreen monitor gives a perfect picture whether you're wasting your evenings on Facebook/Bebo/MySpace, or watching a DVD. The laptop can also boast surround sound speakers, ... ...side, a little more volume would've been good in certain situations but can't grumble too much as the quality of the sound it does produce is very good.
The only gripe I have with the model I purchased was that it doesn't have integrated Bluetooth, which would've been handy at times. That being said the card reader has made up for most of these situations.
To conclude, i've had the laptop for a few months now and it's running for a good 10-12 hours ...

...a few games on the Acer and I was pleasantly suprised.
Although the speed wasnt a fast as on really high end machines the graphics speed was acceptable and would run most games without problems.
MEDIA The Acer is a media PC and it has a great screen, although it is a little to glossy. The screen is 15.4Inches standard for a laptop of this caliber. The sound quality is very high due to the fact Acer included Dolby Surround in this laptop. Something ... ...Like mentioned earlier the Acer is fitted with superfast wireless with the inclusion of 802.11n. It also has bluetooth, a card reader and a camera. CONCLUSION
Although really ugly and not too portable the Acer 5920 has some great features for a good price.
I would probably reccommend this PC as it has some great media applications and is designed with everything in mind.

You can read about the advantages of this laptop all over the net and i would agree - it is a fast capable laptop. However there are some negatives, namely:
1. if you close the lid or leave it in hibernation for too long with the lid closed, it makes an incredibly annoying high pitched continuous beep until you raise the lid. Sometimes i have had to restart it to stop the noise.
2. the microphone in the lid is incredibly ... ...laptop moved the laptop begins to emit that awful noise again.
3. the touch sensitive media buttons on the right of the keyboard are too sensitive and i often end up touching them and opening the program by mistake.
4. i bought this laptop from laptops direct and it only comes with trial versions of windows office and Norton anti-virus. Most people will already know this, but just thought I would point out.

I I bought this laptop for my university. Even though this laptop is ugly but it is good buy for that amount of money.
The design of this product is awful, all plastic. I used to get embraced when I used to takeout this laptop out in the university library. If it is left on the table switched off, it looks like a dummy display model. It also is too bulky and used to take most of the space in my back pack. But the design makes it a durable laptop.
... ...performance of this laptop. It is loaded with all the new gadgets which you can get in expensive brands like Sony, Toshiba etc. The processor speed is amazing and the 2 GB RAM. I was able to install very large programs like acrobat professional on this laptop easily. Amazing speed.

...always use a mouse anyway. Acer gives you plenty of useless software for you to enjoy as well which is always a good thing.
Quite stylish (once you get past the mushroom colour which I sadly quite like anyway!). I reckon it's pretty durable as well. I let the holographic back on mine get a bit scratched. Not bad battery life. Only about an hour at high performance gaming but over 3 hours on battery saver doing word processing. I've seen worse. Nice ... ...pretty good.
I like this speedy laptop and it is just so good that I am getting annoyed at those petty things like no num pad and a rubbish graphics card! I think that says something about it. Nice one Acer. Sensible, functional notebooks! As with all laptops clear up all that background junk that modern computers give you to really do this thing justice!

I purchased my Acer Aspire 5920G from Comet. So much for cutting prices. The laptop itself is cool, it's fairly fast, easy to use and really portable. The 15.4" inch screen is the perfect size. I purchased my Acer Aspire 5920 laptop from PC World. No problems with the laptop but the service at PC World is appauling so I would not recommend buying the laptop from PC World. They also put the price up for the laptop three days after I purchased the laptop. So much for cutting prices. The laptop itself is brilliant, it's fairly fast, easy to use and really portable. The 15.4" inch screen is the perfect size but it is slightly reflective so ... ...you may have problems. The Acer laptop comes with the useful Acer Empowering software.
