...a computer to owning an Acer Aspire ASX3200? == Finding the Acer: == When I began my search for a computer I had 2 main things I needed to find in a computer if I was going to purchase. The Processor was very important to me because I knew I would be often multi-tasking and using 1 or more programs at once. Secondly, I needed a computer with a good RAM. This was important to me because I knew whilst working on different areas of my assignments it ... ...lose them. The Acer was a cheaper alternative to the Dell's, Packard & Bell's and Microsoft Computers which had a processor more powerful than just a single or dual. This specific Acer boasts of a Quad Processor possibly the most powerful processor to our current technologies. The RAM also compromised of 4096 MB which is a super amount of memory. When you compare paying £400+ for this Acer and its features against a Premium Brand computer for £700+, ...

Advantages: Fast for media, HDMI Port And 7.1 Channel Audio Support and its easy on the eyes. Disadvantages: Small cramped case, not good for upgrading after being outdated, no good for games.
This computer is an amazing buy for people not wanting to pay over £400 for a fast and powerful desktop computer. Im going to be brief because i know how much of reviews just get skipped. ==Design== The case for this is beautiful, from the outside. On the inside on the other-hand is a mess of wires and motherboard add-ons cramped into a small space. I have not tested this but i am guessing that because of the quality of the parts that make the computer ... ...best case to use if you are pushing the Cpu and Gpu to the max on a regular basis, THIS MAY MAKE THE COMPUTER UNRELIABLE. ==Parts== This computer comes with a 2.1GHz AMD Phenom X3 8450 Which is basically a fairly fast Cpu Capable of running all the new programs at fast speeds, from my experience a Amd Phenom x4 is still the most future proof "Budget" Cpu out there, i switched to one and have never had any problems at all, always runs at a constant ...

Advantages: Tri - Core, 3GB RAM, 320GB HDD, HDMI Port, eSATA port, Media Card Readre and 9 USB Ports Disadvantages: Not a lot of room in the case, and not the greatist HTPC
...like to say that the Acer Aspire X3200 is a great little HTPS (Home Theatre PC) and very good value for money. Now for the techno – babble:
The Acer Aspire X3200 is powered by a Tri – Core processer, instead of the Dual – Core processers found in the earlier and most there HTPC’s in this price range. It is considerably smaller and has a very basic design. Far from making it dull and not very interesting, this feature allows it too suitably blend ... ...for money
However:
As the Acer Aspire X3200 is so small it has virtually no room for any upgrades. It has no extra hard drive space, no room for extra RAM, and the internal structure is impractical, for example, the DVD drive obscures the RAM chips meaning that to upgrade or replace RAM chips you will need to remove the DVD drive too. It does have a PCI express slot, but due to the case size you can only fit a half size card in it. It does not ...

...and black alone, and the acer logi is written in nice silver lettering on the front. The card reader is in the front, and is easily accesable.
The place where you put dvds in is upright which is a novelty, this is a good space saving idea. There is one major disadvantage to this however, if you have the smaller cds they don't stay put long enough as they fall out of the tray. I suppose technically I could lay the tower on its side, but after paying ... ...9 usb ports, 4 at the front and five at the back. It also has a card reader, which can read most memory cards used in digital cameras apart from those from mobile phones. It has an hdmi socket, so you can connect it through a hd tv. Quick review of Acer Aspire X3200
I had one of these for a day. I spend hours and hours trying to create the recovery disks (only 3 of them). Every time I tried the computer would crash with a Blue Screen of Death and a system dump. It was never at the same place either. I tried 3 different types of DVD.
Maybe I was just unlucky but I took this back to the shop and got a refund. Not impressed at all.
One more thing - it seemed pretty noisy for a "quiet" PC. It was mainly the high pitched part of the noise that irritated me. Not anywhere near as quiet as my main desktop PC. ...
