...on from my last two Acer laptops, when my mother wanted a budget laptop to buy, Acer was one of the names that immediately sprang to mind.
Fortunately that week Comet had a large advert in the newspapers that meant she could buy this model for only £299. One quick car journey later and the credit card was handed over and a shiny new cardboard box containing the Travelmate 2414WLMi was given back in exchange.

Advantages: Excellent Price, Good Design Disadvantages: A little slow
...is a review for the Acer Travelmate 2414WLMi.
Which is very similar to the product above
(1.6Ghz, 40GB HDD, 256MB RAM, WiFi, Dual Layer DVD RW etc.. 15" Screen).
We managed to buy this product for £299 in comet after having difficulty from Tesco.

The laptop seems to be slimmer than others but this makes it a little wider and deeper. This has made the keyboard a little further from the front.
-- Ports, Inputs, Outputs --
The laptop ... ...becasuse of all the programs Acer have installed on it. Once I removed some of these it started up sooner, but still not ultra fast. Internet explorer for example loads at half the speed on this as the 1.8Ghz one I mentioned above.
Once the computer is fully loaded up and not many tasks are being run, it runs smoothly and reliably. It has not yet crashed!

I have had this laptop for three years now and I have had real fun with it. It has been all around the UK, and it has worked perfectly every time. If you are a student or a graduate then I would advise this laptop, (strongly), because it is great for it's money. I got it for a £300 offer from Comet. It is light weight, with an excellent screen for watching Hollywood blockbuster. It has supreme sound and quick maneuverability, and super-fast speed. ... ...of memory and great for people on the go. I think this should be a top rated laptop, and I think it is a great bargain! It's keys are easy to use and it has a built in touch mouse! It also comes with Acrobat Reader! It has been fast, and quick to use from day 1. Any major retailer (including Ciao) will sell it to you. Great laptop, a must buy. A very sleek laptop. ...

(+) cool and quite robust trackpad, good display,64-bit windows 7 (-) few connectors,dell drivers only, not realy for gameing (most models), finger print prone!
