Advantages: Well built, reliable, easy to maintain Disadvantages: Battery life not brilliant
I have been using my Acer now for a couple of years and it is still going strong. As the 240 series laptop has now been around for a while my review is primarily based on the ease of maintenance and upgrade ability for anyone considering purchasing one these as a second hand laptop.

Here Acer were to say the least very mean. The laptops were fitted with the bare minimum 256mb DDR RAM. Yes it will run Windows XP, but try running more than one application and it's a bit like trying to tow a caravan with a Mini!

I received this Notebook as a gift from my parents as a Christmas Gift as I have needed a laptop for ages and I can't really remember a day that I've regretted having it as its a really great machine and even though it doesn't really have a very big hard drive unless you are into graphics design or downloading ... ...as a day-to-day laptop then its perfect for you. Even the price is reasonable considering the specs (noted above) R.R.P £899.99 including Printers & Carry Case.
The only downfall for me is getting used to the 15.0" TFT screen as I am so used to the normal computer screen especially with a normal computer screen you can actually see it which makes it easier to clean but as the TFT Monitor is very delicate it makes you nervous to touch it or try to ...

Advantages: Will take a 80 GB hdd ?? Disadvantages: no dvd/rw & a small screen & a CRAP batery
This is a ok laptop but badley made as the screen is to small,
& the batery sucks as you are lucky to get 1 hour out of it,
& no dvd/rw no coms ports no tv/out no yfi pluss the speakers are stereo when they shoud be soround, but for office bizness it ok & can be made to take a badley needed 80 GB hdd & a DL DVD/RW allso will take a 3.060 GHz P4 cpu with 2 GB of DDR 333. Pluss this laptop needs to be abull to take DULE DDR 400 or beter & a anouther ...
