Advantages: Fast, friendly service - great quotes for under-25s.
Disadvantages: They probably aren't competitive for older drivers with a good N.C.B

The Admiral's ship is not HMS Customer Service!

Advantages: cheaper than some
Disadvantages: more trouble than most

I've been with Admiral for about eight years now. They've always been cheap (ish) and their customer service has been acceptable if not the most praise-worthy. However, an incident occurred when renewing my policy this year that made me see them in a whole new light. I had been running a Land Rover Defender with a separate insurer for a couple of years (one of the specialist 4x4 insurers) but decided to give Admiral a chance this year. I have two ...

A cheap, friendly insurance company

Advantages: Cheap, but comprehensive cover

Bonus Accelerator Beware

Advantages: Cheap Cover, Friendly Service

Basically this means that you get one years no claims bonus after only 10 months but obviously your premium then becomes due for renewal 2 months earlier than anywhere else. What About Good Ol Customer Service??

I've been with Admiral Group for about 6 years now and even though they may not always have the best price each year, they certainly do have the best customer service in most of the departments. The Renewals and Customer Service departments are great.....I have not (luckily) had to speak to thier Claims department, so I can't say. I rang Admiral yesterday to find out how much it would cost for my other half, aged 23, who has never had a policy of his own but is a named driver on my policy with Admiral for our ancient 'A' reg VW Polo, to get insured on a 2.5 litre Rover turbo diesel.
