It is a new version of Cool Edit Pro , which in its own right was a great piece of software , but was not aimed at the professional digital recording and production market. Being Pro Tools based , it shouldnt take a pro tools user long to figure out whats going on. It is something of a lite cersion of Pro Tools. It wasnt perticularly suprising that it ran at a great speed. I was only using a PIII 2.5Ghz with 1024MB RAM and it ran at an amazing speed. It comes with plenty of effects , plug-ins and filters. One major gripe is that it doesnt support many VSt plugins. ...

Adobe Audition is a powerful peice of software for editing audio. It works well on most computers but to get the most out of it I would run it on at least a 1ghz computer with at least 512mb of RAM and allow plenty of hard drive space. Adobe Audition is an updated version of Cool Edit Pro, when Adobe bought out cool edit and renamed it Adobe Audition the only real change was the title, there was a few small tweaks like a major improvement to the ... ...in real time. Adobe Audition is a professional yet affordable peice of software used at radio stations accross the country.
I believe that you can also add on other effects however I have not got round to trying this. I often use Adobe Audition on Windows XP and Windows 200 and occasionally it does crash, however it is really good at recovering what it was doing, when you next open it it prompts you if you would like to continue where you left off. ...
