Advantages Advantages Massive amount of features, endless ways to manipulate pictures

Disadvantages Disadvantages Takes a while to learn how to use it

Having recently reviewed Quark on here I thought I should also give a review on Photoshop as it is another program that I use on a daily basis. Photoshop is a photo editing program which again as with quark I started when I was 17 (long time ago now) and at college studying Graphic Design, being young and having never used the program before I thought it was amazing, I didn't realize that there where programs out there that could do so much to pictures. How times have changed, this program has been re-released several times since I first started using it and it has come on in leaps and bounds ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to use, lots of tools.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive.

A few years ago I decided I wanted to do some photo editing and graphics on my computer. A friend of mine recommended Photoshop and I am so glad I took his advice! I was new to graphics and had never done anything like that before but I quickly got the hang of it and kept on learning new things and I still learn new things today. I would say the learning curve for this program is quite steep. When you first get it, it is very confusing as you are not familiar with all the tools. After a while you start to learn how to use it as you get used to the tools available. The tools are neatly ... more

Advantages Advantages Have complete features for graphic and web designers

Disadvantages Disadvantages I think there is no disadvantages in this product, all just perfect

If you are a web designer or graphic designer, I'm sure you know about Photoshop. Yeah, this is the most popular software for designer all over the world. I started using this Adobe product for a year, and so far I feel very satisfied and never planned to replace it with another software. As a web designer, photoshop give me a complete solution. To be honest, Photoshop is the most essential software for me. When I started to make a new website design, I always use Photoshop to making the mock-up of the design. Starting with creating the layout of fundamentals, checking the alignment and ... more

Advantages Advantages The new 3D modeling, painting

Disadvantages Disadvantages The way multiple documents open up

Overall, it is a good program. The new 3D features are nice. The way that multiple graphics open up, in tabs similar to IE or Firefox is quite annoying. You can get the graphics to open up in the old way, but it is anoying in the fact you have to do that every time. Not using 3D, the filters are all the same. The new GUI is nice, and the option to change the GUI is nice. Overall, there are plenty of nice new features, but if you use Photoshop for anything other than 3D, save your money on the upgrade, and keep your older version. If you are upgrading from a older version to any of the Creative ... more

    Advantages Advantages Makes editing easy...

    Disadvantages Disadvantages price...

Photoshop CS4 is wonderful and a real joy to use. I purchased a new PC especially to run Photoshop CS4, with a lot of memory and running vista , and have hardly anything else running on this machine so that other software does not clutter things up etc. CS4 loaded very easily and relatively quickly. After installing the upgrades - 340MB - we started to use it for our day to day image processing. You download your images directly from your card into Bridge and then open them as RAW files. After this processing in Photoshop CS4 is smooth and very reliable. I am quite knew to photoshop but am ... more

Advantages Advantages All in one, free extras found on the web

Disadvantages Disadvantages Cost, not very user friendly

Adobe Photoshop cs4 over all is a very good program. There is almost nothing that you can't do with Photoshop. For those who want to work with 3D, this is a must have.. As far as photo editing, there is nothing like it. This is the best program for that. Its a little expensive. Somewhere around the price rage of $400.00 on up depending on what your looking for and if your just upgrading or not. I advise you to look closely at what each one offers and what it is that you need. Then price check it with as many stores as you can. Once you have this program there isn't nothing else that you will ... more

Advantages Advantages all in one design tool packages, set of powerful imaging tools, 3D engine in Extended version.

Disadvantages Disadvantages price is too expensive

There's just enough that's better in the CS4 updates to Photoshop and Photoshop Extended--most notably, usability improvements for core features--that many people will find themselves sighing, biting the bullet, and upgrading. If you work with video or 3D, or want to update your Creative Suite to CS4 for other reasons, this is a no-brainer; for the rest of us, there's little you can do with CS4 that you couldn't do with CS3, and the latter seems a bit faster and more memory efficient in some respects. The Web abounds with complaints about Adobe's installer and updater, and I think most are ... more
