Advantages: difrerent voices; narrative devices a joy to peruse; brilliant mirror of XIXthe century mentality Disadvantages: could disappoint by being a fairly slow read; demanding and cold

Advantages: great reading Disadvantages: none
I will not write a synopsis of the book as other reviewers have done it so I will concentrate on other points.
I have just finished reading this book and it was hard to put down. In fact my husband had to almost force me to put it down and talk to him as I have spent most of Friday night and Saturday reading it.
It's a great story, keeps you interested to the end however I felt the ending a bit dissapointing ( just my opinion and may not be ...

Advantages: the ideas it brings up are very interesting Disadvantages: can be slow to read
After studying this book for English Literature A level, i felt i could add a few points that haven't been mentioned.
We were told to read the book before the start of our course through the summer and i did find it quite slow and the ending somewhat dissapointing.
However, if you are willing to go into more depth to discover Atwoods messages through 'Alias Grace', the book becomes something very interesting and different.

alias grace Review ofAlias Grace - Margaret Atwoodby
LIZZY111
Advantages: the characters Disadvantages: the length
i read this book because i read the handmaids tale and i was interested in her writing. it is very similar in style to the handmaids tale, autobiographical. the character Grace is complex enough to want to read on to the end and it is a very big book. the ending is unhappy and sad at the same time. the story is slow moving but this lets you get to know grace really well and understand what she is effected by. i would really recommend reading this ...

Advantages: well written in parts Disadvantages: shaky plot and storyline, disappointing
alias grace is unlike the two previous atwood novels i have read in some ways, but in others it is simliar. it is the story of a woman, told in the first person, and in a similar fashion to cats eye, the handmaids tale etc, it tells a life story through to death or old age or escape.
alias grace is a novel set in the 19th century, it tells the true story of a murderess called grace marks, and atwood's interpretation of both her so called guilt ...
