Another Bullet in the Boot

AdvantagesA stunning season, the most gripping in recent years. The right driver won the title

DisadvantagesPolitics and petulant tantrums throughout.

"...young man. In 2005, Alonso won seven of the season's nineteen races to Schumacher's solitary one to become the sport's youngest champion. But still it didn't raise the hibernating couch-potato fans from their slumber. He went on to repeat the success in 2006, albeit not quite as dominantly, and subsequently forced Schumacher in to retirement. Here was the greatest driver of them all, being beaten by a pup; it was time to go while he could still ..." Read review

Two household names

AdvantagesHamilton

DisadvantagesAlonso

"...start, landing 12 podium finishes. Alonso didn't like the fact that Hamilton was as good as he was, and got really angry about the fact that McLaren backed Hamilton as much as Alonso. The battle of McLaren had begun. Hamilton lead the Drivers Championship on points for most of the season, with Alonso closely behind. At first, the two seemed to get on well, but behind closed doors, all hell let lose. In the Hungarian Grand Prix, Alonso deliberately ..." Read review

Roll on 2008!

Advantages-

Disadvantages-

"...Australia I obviously knew who Alonso was as he had won the Championship in 2006 and 2007 and had heard the hype about Lewis Hamilton. I wasn't expecting much but he drove amazingly and came 3rd earning himself a podium position in his first ever race. He then maintained his fantastic driving and earned podium finishes on his next four races until finally winning his first ever race in Canada on 10th June. I became aware that there were tensions ..." Read review

Hamilton Vs Alonso...... ITS WAR!!!!!!

AdvantagesHamilton

DisadvantagesAlonso

"The Alonso Versus Hamilton war has been raging on since many months now making top sporting headlines. The two drivers both of whom are contracted to Mclaren went head to head this year in what turned out not only to be a battle on the race tracks but also a battle of words. For those of you who are not aware of the set up of Formula 1 Championship here is a little overview: The FIA Formula One World Championship consists of 17 Grand Prix races, ..." Read review

A masterpiece of media manipulation

AdvantagesMakes the races interesting and keeps audience interested

DisadvantagesHow much of it is honest?

"...friendly competition between the two. However Alonso is a racing driver with several contraversies to his name. - The apparent blocking of Massa in the 2006 Italian Grand Prix - Allegedly slowing down deliberately to force Schumacher to pass under a red flag. - The alledged delaying of Lewis Hamilton in order for Alonso to take pole at 2007 Hungarian - Brake tests (jumping on the brakes when two drivers are close together which forces the other ..." Alonso vs Hamillton

AdvantagesNone

DisadvantagesNone

"...be fair I personally think Alonso is being rather pathetic on the whole situation just because he isn't number one he wants to go back to his old team! At the end of the day it only matters what team your on and if that team to wins! So to have a hissy fit (basically) is completely unreasonable! He left Maclaren (however you spell it) to go to the other team (soz can't remember what time he is on) to further his career, so now just to go back ..." Read review

Was it Hamilton's fault

AdvantagesHe did screw up monumentally in some races

DisadvantagesLet's be fair, he is a boy amongst men - imagine the pressure.

"...Stalin gave East Germany. If Alonso had swallowed his pride and gave Hamilton some help, he could have brought some shine to the nation who came oh-so-close to victory. However, blame cannot be shifted to the Spanish as we as British do so love to do. Hamilton had more than enough chances, but pressure got to him. However, nothing could have prepared him for the megalithic screw up he, and McL-Merc did, in the final race of the championship. To ..." Read review

McLaren the money grabbers...

AdvantagesHamilton

DisadvantagesMcLaren

"To get straight to the point, I blame McLaren. After all of the trouble that McLaren had with Ferrari, luckily Hamilton was allowed to keep his points that he had earned. You would have thought that McLaren would have wanted to forget about their troubles and concentrate on something brighter like a rookie winning his debut season. There's many English racers, but for a rookie to do so well in his debut season is unheard of. This made the majority ..." Read review

Alonso was a scape goat

AdvantagesIt created a bit of excitement to the seasons events

DisadvantagesIt took away from proper racing

"...drivers, however, I would support Alonso in this instance. Alonso has never shown this sort of behaviour to any other team mate before McLaren-Mercedes or indeed since McLaren. I find Hamilton very false in any interviews I've seen of him. Its as if he's always putting on an act to behave how he believes the public want, however, every now and then a glimmer of his arrogance and vanity shine through. In my opinion McClaren-Mercedes used Alonso as ..." Read review

Alonso v's Hamilton

AdvantagesThe noise

DisadvantagesThe Politics

"The tiff between Alonso and Hamilton was a bit of friendly child's play when the season started and was blown out of proportion by the media. However when Alonso realized that Hamilton was a much better driver than himself jelousey set in and Alonso tried to undermine Hamilton for the rest of the season. Alonso was squarely to blame for the farce that was the 2007 F1 season. Alonso should have been sacked long before the season ended. I have been ..." Read review

Robbed Of Talent

AdvantagesDo your Best

Disadvantageswatch out for rats

"I feel Alonso has alot to blame for Hamilton not acheiving the title, he has never been a team player and showed arragance of being the defending champion. Also his piers should have stopped this from happening well before but as this added more publicity towards them they were only shown up for what greed does in spoiling what every one watches it for is the true talent and thrill of what the sport brings to millions of fans. It also raises what ..." Read review

Hamilton - Keep up the good work!

Advantagesn/a

Disadvantagesn/a

"...support Hamilton. Everyone expected Alonso to be on top this season but from out of nowhere Hamilton prooved that he could match and beat Alonso, although he didn't quite manage to win the championship. He is a winner despite this as no-one expected him to do as well as he did. A lot of pressure was put on the poor man because he kept on winning. Alonso should not have been jealous or put out because of this. This is not a crime! I am a firm believer ..." Read review

Hamilton V Alonso

AdvantagesHamilton can now prepare himself for next seasons FI campaign

DisadvantagesAlonso has really shown himself in a poor light and I fear for his future

"...about. I personally think that Alonso is to blame. He was the world champion at the time and should really set the standard. Wanting to have better treatment than Hamilton is ridiculous. They both drove for the same team. They were team-mates and as such should really try and get on. Alonso should have helped Hamilton more with his experience in F1. I do feel that it was the right decision for him to leave. Hamilton has always shown Alonso a lot of ..." Read review

Alonso's Toddler Tantrums!!

AdvantagesHamilton...he rocks!

DisadvantagesAlonso......ahh diddums!

"...grace that the likes of Alonso could do worse than emulate. He is mature beyond his years and relatively limited experience and has given the old hands a bit of a kick up the pants! Roll on next season where hopefully the likes of Alonso will come back with a slightly adjusted attitude (stop throwing your toys out of the cot!) and Hamilton will just keep doing what he's been doing.......driving everyone else into a cocked hat!! ..." Quick review of Alonso Vs Hamilton Mc Laren-Mercedes. Who is more to blame? Who do you support, and why?

"Hamilton is the reason for the problem, but by being much better than anyone thought he would be. Hired as a second string driver Maclaren must've been gobsmacked by what they'd acquired. Naturally, the desire to raise money for the team immediately overcame any ethical demands that they support their prodigy to get the best out of him. This lead Hamilton to go on and do better and better at the expense of Alonso and the team's strategy. It was ultimately their incompetence which killed the golden goose in the penultimate race, when a swift decision over tyres would have given them the constructors' title and another F1 champion. Serves them right ,really. Let's hope they learn for next year!
