Advantages Advantages when they say long plus.... they mean it!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages crinkly noises....

Having experienced both the wonders and marvels of various brands of tampons ( all sizes and flow) for years,I reverted for a while to pads. This was maybe because the television is now so full of the wonders of the new technologies applied to them,(yep! to menstrual accesories) that I thought it would be worth a try. So, off to the chemist I went, armed with a firm idea of what I wanted. Once there, the shelves and shelves they seem to be able to fill with these products is daunting. I mean it's not like magazines is it? Once past the decision part: Always long plus (just in case)I got to the ... more

    Advantages Advantages No leakage

Disadvantages Disadvantages none in my opinion

Oh! No, not that time of the month again. As I have gotten older my periods have become a lot heavier. The Doctor told me I have fibroids, but as I am nearing the change it is best to leave them alone as they will shrink after I have reached the menopause. So that is fair enough for me. I don’t want unnecessary operations if time will heal. But what do I do in the mean time… My periods are so heavy that I worry incase I am leaking. But not no more...Thank goodness I stopped using tampons years ago, when I read about toxic shock syndrome. (That scared me) The pads that were on sale ... more

I hate having to walk about with what feels like a Matress between my legs. Although i've tried Asda's version of these, they just don't feel as soft, and that's the last thing you want when you are feeling uncomfortable down there is to have a scratchy feeling bit plastic there. At least these feel a bit soft. The price of Always Pads have got a bit cheaperover the last few years. Still don't understand why we have to pay for these "luxuries". I got a pack of these for £1.40, but know you can get a double pack of these which works out about 15p cheaper. Not much of a saving, but I guess all ... more

Advantages Advantages length, absorbancy, value for money

Disadvantages Disadvantages no 'secret' pouch to carry them in

I stumbled across these pads when i was pregnant with DS1 and out shopping for maternity pads. I did have a small stash of mat pads but when i opened them to inspect them they looked just like very cheap sanitary towels so i was on a mission. Normally i buy Always for a normal period but this time i was looking for something that would handle a heavier flow - i.e bleeding after child birth. These pads were on special offer and given that they were long and designed for heavier flows i thought i should give them a go. They made such a yucky part of post childbirth bearable. I did have a very ... more

Sanitary towels are definitely good for beginners; the thought of shoving something up there (for lack of a better euphemism) can be quite daunting at first. Good thing is they come in all shapes and sizes, with absolutely rediculous names, like super-maxi-double-mini and ultra-mini-normal, tee hee (you can joke about this for hours)! I do have a heavy flow so when I do use sanitary towels I like Always Long Plus and Ultra Night. These are both very long and have wings. Wings are a must for me, I'll not use a towel that can't fly. Trouble is, you want something to carry one in, but you have to ... more

    Advantages Advantages Does The Job!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not suited for certain panties

We all know having a period is a pain in the bum. One thing we are glad about is that sanitary products have revolutionised since pre-historic times, no more bits of material or even Dr Whites your mum will know what i am on about. We now have pads which are long or short regular or thick or multi thin, winged, odour controlled. Tampons with or without applicators thick or thin and now even LUBRICATED. Just think what it is going to be like within the next few decades. Maybe no more periods? bit of an extereme thought. I find that Always long plus is suited for me as i feel more secure as it ... more

i am 32 and never ever used a tampon in my life because of the fear of insserted the tampon correctly and the toxic contamination, when i am talking about the always extra long pad i am talking about the ultra thin one i find it long effective and catches the overflows girs you know what i mean the bits that ease out un expectadly??? i think everyone should try these you cannot notice them through your close fitting trousers and they last as long as you need them too through the night and when you need them to last that extra hour until you get home to change inthe comfort of your own bathroom ... more
