    I love books, and I come from a family of lovers of books too; we live, eat and breathe them, have houses stuffed full of them, and some of my first memories are of visiting any book shop we came across on family holidays, whilst my children's first memories no doubt involve books too, I've been reading to them since birth.     Do I or don’t I? The Kindle……the thing that made me dance around my living room like a ten year old child! As many of you may (or may not) know, reading is my hobby and I spend an awful lot of my time and money on it. My current reading rate averages around 3 books a week so as you can imagine there are an awful lot of books hanging around my house, much to my husband’s amusement (and dismay)!     Disadvantages Disadvantages I expected books to be cheaper

    One of the few downsides of travelling has always been the limited books you can access, either through luggage limitations (though once I came home with 16kg hand luggage – luckily they didn’t weigh it – since I stuffed my carry on with books) or through lack of availability overseas (in Mexico all I could get were the New York Times Top 10, which at that time included Twilight and Eat, Pray, Love for FAR too many weeks).     Amazon Kindle3 Wifi Version Introduction I have always been a big reader, since being quite young I have enjoyed a good book starting out with the classic kids books from Roald Dahl and the likes. And as I got older my taste for books grew, in my house I've a bookshelf busting with books both read and unread and complained most days about it as I had no room for new books (of course my husband told me to get rid of the read books...but not a chance!).     The Kindle "3", now called the Kindle Keyboard or “Kindle third wireless generation” is the ebook reader created by Amazon and released on the 25th of August 2010. It’s smaller still than the previous versions and features a cool new chrome look, better internet, faster speeds, better disabled access with talking menus and, my favourite, the ability to make notes on PDF files.     Advantages Advantages Space saver, books cost as little as 52p, huge range of free books, downloads are instant,

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none for me.

    I'm a pretty boring person and love nothing more then relaxing with a book after a long day and I consider myself to be an avid reader. But in the last few years I've found myself with no more space for additional bookcases and the books that are on them are tightly packed together and haphazardly piled on top of each other. Both messy and claustrophobic. So what I used to do was get rid of an old book [recycle or charity] every time I bought a new one.     As a bit of a geek girl, I have many gadgets. My current favourite is my Amazon Kindle, which I got given a few months ago for my birthday (my family have such good taste, though they might have been carefully guided in this specific instance to get me vouchers so I could order it myself!).
