    Advantages Advantages Easy to use, easy to follow instructions, clears the clutter

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Some of the fee's are high

    During my student days, I spent many hours on Amazon buying all of the books I needed for my course because the prices that I got offered through this website were much cheaper than my local bookstore or any high street retailer. It wasn't until a few months ago that I rediscovered all of these books and was debating whether to take them for recycling when I came across the Marketplace on the Amazon website. For those people who are not aware, Amazon.co.uk is one of the biggest online stores and they offer everything from books and DVDs to computer games and more recently jewellery and shoes ... more

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What is Amazon? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Amazon.co.uk is a website where you purchase literally anything. Amazon.co.uk has been around in the UK since 1998 and it started off a website mainly for selling PC & Video Games, Books, DVD's and similar items, now it still stocks all those items but now have expanded its items to Health & Beauty, Clothes, Shoes, Electrical Equipment, you name it, Amazon probably has it. If I'm looking to purchase something I usually always check out Amazon, as they're prices are always competitive and I know I can rely on them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What is ... more
    Advantages Advantages Great rates possible for 2nd hand books; buyers make savings too
    Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be a little tricky to navigate the Seller site, buyers may be disadvantage by postage costs
    Amazon.co.uk/Marketplace ------------------------------------ Amazon.co.uk has been around in the UK since 1998, (hard to believe it is only 7 years!!) and is one of the world's biggest online stores. In my regular dealings with them, Amazon are a company which consistently offers good customer service and good value for money. It is perhaps lesser known that Amazon.co.uk also has a very active Market Place division, in which both individual members of the public, and even other organisations selling books can register as a trader and market their wares. Selling ---------- There are a number ... more
    Advantages Advantages Huge market, guaranteed payment, make some money from your attic
    Disadvantages Disadvantages Very high fees
    I’m sure we have all heard of Amazon, one of the best known on-line businesses in the world, but what is Amazon Marketplace, and why should we use it? Basically, Amazon Marketplace is an integrated part of the Amazon site, which sells new and secondhand goods through third parties. These third parties can be companies or just ‘normal’ sellers like me and you. Amazon Marketplace, actually sells the same goods as Amazon, and often at lower prices, but Amazon make their money from these sales by charging high fees. •• Buying •• When you browse around Amazon, you can be looking in the Marketplace ... more
    Advantages Advantages Fantastic service, easy to use, fees are not too high in my opinion
    Disadvantages Disadvantages NA
    Amazon Marketplace, is, in my opinion, Amazon's answer to eBay. Amazon Marketplace,is convenience, and the more better choice for those who do not want to be charged the fee's you need to on eBay - trust me, that is why I completely avoided eBay. I am able to fully review Amazon Marketplace, as I have been on the opposite ends of the spectrum- that being both a buyer, and a seller. Buying with Amazon Marketplace Buying with Amazon Marketplace is as easy as 1,2,3. To begin your buying process, you need to be logged into your Amazon account.If you do not have one, signing up is easy, and free ... more
    Advantages Advantages reach a huge audience, hassle free
    Disadvantages Disadvantages market saturated so many low selling prices, high fees
    I’m a bit of a hoarder but living in a small flat there comes a time when you need to have a good clear out. I used to sell a lot of unwanted items on ebay.co.uk but my recent selling sprees have left me disappointed with goods no longer seeming to command the prices they would have reached a couple of years ago and high seller and PayPal fees taking a large chunk of your earnings too. I started selling my books, DVDs, CDs and DS games on Amazon marketplace several months ago and have found that it has mostly been a positive experience. What Is Amazon MArketplace? Amazon marketplace is part of ... more
    Advantages Advantages Easy to run
    Disadvantages Disadvantages Postal charges aren't enough - Amazon' s overheads
    Previous instances of my use of on-line auctions and second-hand market places can been counted on the fingers of one hand (of a sloth!). I’ve bought a bike from e-Bay and three years ago I made a successful bid for a Sony TV at FSAuctions. When it comes to getting rid of stuff, I’m afraid I’m a bit of a squirrel, or sometimes, I actually manage to sell things via word of mouth. I had been slightly put off of selling on e-Bay from my daughter’s experience as a small-time retailer of refurbished cell-phones – this being a side line to her actual cell-phone shop. She somehow managed to get ... more
    Advantages Advantages Sell loads of used items and buy some new.
    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not every item makes a profit
    Five years ago I started university. I enrolled on a teacher training course, the hardest part was finding affordable books. Forget the snotty noses, loud children or lobbed pencils, a book under £20 was unheard of, well until I discovered Amazon Marketplace. I spent many days trawling my local bookshop and internet sites. I even stumbled across Ebay, the prices were good but I could never get the book I wanted. I was fairly new to internet shopping and was not keen on trying it. I returned home from uni one day with a long list of books I needed to buy. A mate of mine mentioned Amazon.co.uk ... more
    Advantages Advantages No fees unless you make a sale
    Disadvantages Disadvantages Amazon's fees are a little high
    Anyone wishing to sell unwanted books, CDs or DVDs online might consider Ebay as the first option, but I would always look initially at Amazon Marketplace. This division of amazon.co.uk allows you to list items already in Amazon's catalogue for sale whether they are new or used. They can be single or multiple items. You do not have to pay anything for this service until you make a sale. I have generally found that you can obtain a better price on Marketplace than on Ebay, although it may take you longer to sell your item. First you need to find the exact item you wish to sell by searching for ... more
    Disadvantages Disadvantages High fees, minor recurring technical problems, some items not listed.
    There can't be many web users who haven't bought something from Amazon, or browsed their website at some time. In the past few years, Amazon have expanded from simply selling books and CDs into electrical goods and computer software. I was chatting to a friend about Amazon the other day, and was surprised to learn that he didn't know he could actually sell on Amazon, as well as buy from them... so I got my Ciao head on and decided to write a little intro. I've been selling on the site on-and-off for about 18 months, alongside normal eBay selling, so this op will probably have a bit of an ... more
