Advantages: very effective (and relatively cheap) pain reliever for most minor and common ailments Disadvantages: Still dearer than the old Apirin or Paracetamol B.P.
...going to talk about here, Anadin Extra.
I still buy the Bayer Aspirin, as I take one every morning to help my circulation, and to help relieve minor arthritis that I have in my fingers and wrists. (due to too much golf over the years, I think!)
If you’re sufficiently interested, I have a lengthy opinion buried somewhere in my profile that outlines in detail the history and therapeutic qualities of the ‘wonder drug.’ But for everyday ... ...use Anadin Extra, as it contains both aspirin and paracetamol. There’s slightly more aspirin (300mg) than paracetamol, (200mg) and for some reason there is also a small amount of caffeine thrown in for good measure. (Not that I need any extra doses of caffeine, being a confirmed coffee addict)
We use Anadin Extra for the very simple reason that they work very effectively, and will relieve most of the worst symptoms of a cold or flu, or an ...

I’m sure that like me, most of you will have tried an endless number of different brands of pain killer over the years, with varying degrees of success, but I have never found any brand of pain killer as effective as these. Advantages: fast and effective pain relief Disadvantages: i think they are expensive compared to others
I've been using Anadin Extra for years as I've found it is a great help in various types of pain relief - whether its a headache, muscular aching or period pains.
I suffer from migraines from time to time and although Anadin Extra isn't much use when it is full blown I have found if you catch it at the early stages it can be very effective in stopping a major episode which as any migraine sufferer knows can put you in bed for days.
The main ingredients ... ...anything new.
Prices for Anadin Extra vary from chemist to supermarket but they are usually around £3.50 for 32 tablets from Boots. You can buy a soluble version if you prefer and these are available for £3 for 16 tablets. I find the tablets very easy to swallow as they are a capsule shape and not to big and I find they leave no nasty aftertaste if you do have a little difficulty getting them over so I cannot give any recommendation to the soluble ...

...You get the idea, Anadin are , to my mind, an official Good Thing. How could they not be?They get rid of Pain...an official Bad Thing. Make that Bad Bad BAD thing!

Anadin also manage to relieve the pain of migraine, which is impressive indeed as generally there isnt much one can do about the damn migraine except lie in a darkened room and wait for the headache and nausea to pass...anadin, whilst not completely relieving me of migraine, does make it less painful and less lengthy. They're also effective in combatting the common cold, an illness for which one gets little sympathy but whilst ...

Advantages: Good alternative to Ibuprofen Disadvantages: Not quite as strong and expensive for paracetamol
...One I can take is Anadin Extra.
This is a Paracetamol based tablet available over the counter from the chemist. It does contain some aspirin so you may still need to check if you can take it. People with heart conditions, haemophiliacs, liver complaints, should be aware.
The tablets are suprisingly quick to work. They are great for such complaints as Headaches, pains, aches, toothy hurts, etc.
They are long capsule shaped but lack the shiny coatings ... ...tablets rather than shiny Nurofens.
Saying this, for the people unable to swallow tablets (you know who you are you big woosies!) there is also a soluble version of this tablet. For the same price too.
Simply drop the tablets into a glass of water, wait for them to fizz and disolve and knock them back. Bad points with these are that you only ever seem to get 1.5 of the 2 tablets to dissolve completely and the other 0.5 is left attached to the glass. ...

Advantages: Works effectively, quickly and confidently. Disadvantages: Expensive, but it would be more expensive to suffer.
Anadin Extra are the only tablets that work for me if I have a headache. You can use them for other ailment's, but as far as headache's go I personally think they are one of the best tablet's around.
I have been using Anadin Extra for years and have never experienced any side effects or problems with them though if you are pregnant then I would strongly advise you not to use them. They could harm an unborn child as they contain aspirin and paracetamal.

Although Anadin Extra are expensive and probably the most expensive brand of over the counter pain killer's (but don't quote me on that!) they work extremely well. They get rid of pain within half an hour to an hour with no side effects for me although I do believe they have some and like I said earlier there a no, no for pregnant ladies out there.

So what makes Anadin Extra so effective?
Anadin Extra contains two main active ingredients, these are Paracetamol and Asprin, both of these being household names in their own right.
