Then he asks you if your a Mr. or a Mrs. then he says where are you off to. You have to type in a made up place or a real place. (I picked London) then he talks some more. When you get to your town. Animal Crossing WW is Addictive

Advantages: can be addictive, interact with neighbours
Disadvantages: wi fi is pretty essential, requires a lot of time and patience

This is one of the few games that Nintendo DS advertise in the "girl's games" section. From the advert I was pretty excited about it. It was the second game I had decided to buy for my DS so was expecting it to keep me satisfied for a while. First time round I was a little disappointed as I imagined a game that was jam packed full of things to do but I just started playing it again and I am really enjoying it. ***The Game*** The opening went on ...
...taxi and in order to choose my name and sex for my character I had to answer the taxi driver's questions "What's your name" and then use my stylus to touch the right letters on a keyboard on my touch screen. Okay, I've finally arrived in my town and I head over to see Tom Nook. Tom Nook is your best friend when you want a bigger house but also your worst enemy as he is making you skint! The purpose of the game is to pay off the mortgage to Tom Nook. ...

There's No Recession In This Town!

Advantages: Addictive and fun, well made and thought out with real time play
Disadvantages: Addictive, real time play, shop hours & shop closing, no real aims in the game

...one of these games was Animal Crossing - Wild World. I had been recommended it by a male friend of mine, but didn't really know what it was about as such (bar a little insight from the advert on TV) so have been playing it for a while to see what it is all about. You start off in a taxi, where you are asked where you want to go to… I wasn't sure where to put so I hazarded a guess and said 'home' *cue the family fortunes noise for the wrong answer*; ...
...the town I wanted to create, silly me for not reading up on it so I now live in a town called 'home'. When you get to your town, you will pull up outside the town hall, and there you can go in and speak to the person on the counter who will tell you where your house is, and a few other bits that you may need to know. The town hall is also the local post office/bank - you just direct your character to whichever side of the counter you are requiring. ...

Neighbours Around the World

Advantages: Great in portable form | Quite a lot to do | Online play
Disadvantages: Slow paced for some

The GameCube release of Animal Crossing was a perfect example of how annoying it can be to live life as a PAL territory gamer. After the release in Japan and America, Europe still had to wait for years before the game finally showed up on our shores with Nintendo sporting the 'localisation issues' excuse. When it did come, however, and for those that hadn't already imported it gamers were greeted with pretty much what they had wanted for so long, ...
...previous versions of the game, Animal Crossing is a life simulator based in a green little down where, predictably, the population is entirely made up of animals. For some odd reason you, as a human, decide to leave the comforts of your own home and come live the idyllic life with the animals. You manage to get yourself a house thanks to the local shop owner Tom Nook whole you'll grow to loathe over time due to his mortgage fees he lumbers you with. ...

WARNING! Animal Crossing is EXTREMELY ADDICTIVE!

Advantages: Could literally keep going for ever
Disadvantages: Characters could get irritating

...should steer well clear of Animal Crossing: Wild World. It took me a few goes to get into it, but by my third play on it I was completely and utterly hooked. Background/History -------------------------- Animal Crossing started off as a Nintendo 64 game in Japan, in 2001. Due to the decline in popularity of the N64, sales were not as good as expected, and so the Animal Crossing game concept was redeveloped as a GameCube game. It was released in ...
...(and there are rumours about Animal Crossing: City Folk being produced for Nintendo Wii). The Game --------------- Animal Crossing: Wild World is an RPG, meaning a role-playing game or a social simulator if you like. The game differs for each unique player - it follows a simple preset plot that can be altered by the actions of the user, resulting in different consequences to affect your personal game. The game also reflects real life in that ...

It's a Wild World out there!

Advantages: Great and easy to play
Disadvantages: Can get addictive

Animal Crossing: Wild World is a fun-filled game suitable for all ages (PEGI rated 3+). There are millions of items to collect such as clothes, umbrellas, flowers, fish, insects, furniture and even fossils. There's also many different characters to meet too. Most of this stuff will be explained later in the review. Starting Your New Game It is really easy to start a new game. Simply touch "New Game" with your stylus* at the title screen. (*Your ...

Disadvantages: not really a lot of point to the game

...had almost begged for was Animal Crossing. I have watched her friends play this in the past and never really understood what it was all about as they told me there weren't really things to do, and you kind of did what you wanted! This in mind when we bought the machine and game a few weeks before Christmas, there was no option but for me to play it in secret without her catching me! The game itself is suitable for anybody aged six and over, and ...
...further in the game. Animal Crossing is a game with no direction, or level completion. You control yourself and what and where you go at any given time. This makes the game impossible to complete and you will always hopefully have something to do when you sign into the game. A Whole New World to Discover

Advantages: Open ended, WiFi enabled, Do things at your own pace
Disadvantages: Quite similar to Animal Crossing on the Nintendo GameCube, No ''real'' plotline

...I first heard the the Animal Crossing franchise would appear on the DS, I just knew it would work. Having played the GameCube Animal Crossing game religiously, I knew what the game was all about. So first off, I'll tell you what the game is. Imagine The Sims, but add a touch of Nintendo, and take away all the humans and replace them with talking animals. That's quite close to what Animal Crossing is. Like The Sims, there is no plot line. You just ...
...simpler! So in conclusion, Animal Crossing Wild World is unlike any other game out there (except for Animal Crossing GC). If you've played the GameCube version, you might think that there's nothing new on offer here, but it is well worth it. I felt like that at first, but the game has sucked me in, and it hasn't let me go. I am on the game everyday, sometimes only for about 15 minutes. You don't have to spend hours on end on this game, just dip ...

Animal Crossing Wild World - Fun Escapism

Advantages: Good as a form of escapism, nice soothing background music, wi-fi connection
Disadvantages: Not a particularly challenging game

...History of the Game** Animal Crossing Wild World is the first Animal Crossing game on the DS console, whereas the original Animal Crossing game came out on the Gamecube console back in 2004. I believe its a Japanese game and is kind of like the Sims, only cuter (lol) and more cartoon like. The Gamecube game was a success, it was very popular in Japan and the US as so in 2006, the DS version, now with the sub title 'Wild World' (though I wouldn't ...
...To Play/What to Expect** Okay so what is this game all about then, I hear you say? well, as I already said it could be described as the Sims only a much more cartoon-y version, Nintendo's version. At the very start of the game, you have to decide on the name of your character, which can be given any name and you also have to decide on the name of the town that your going to go 'visit' and subsequently live in (mines is called Sunville, cheesy I ...

A Very Wide Wild World

Advantages: You can do nearly anything you want
Disadvantages: You can't leave your town if none of your friends have their gates open

Animal Crossing is one of the best games I've had so far! There's events going on throughout the year, so I never get bored. In this game you can decorate your home, catch bugs or fish, join in with the events or just chat to the locals. You can also chat to friends near and far using the Wi-Fi option. In the game, you can create up to four characters, at the moment I only have one, which means I can concentrate on that one more. The item screen ...

There are also many different clothes which are available for your character to wear and when the shop upgrades to the maximum you can also change the characters hair, I haven't quite got to that stage yet, but I've visited other people's shops. Interesting Idea - But That's Pretty Much It

Advantages: Cute graphics
Disadvantages: Very slow paced, not really much to do

Animal Crossing is a very unusual game, in that there really isn't any plot to it. There are no levels. Aside from the beginning, there are no tasks. You do whatever you want, whenever you want. It sounds strange, and it really is. The game starts with you in the back of a taxi, answering some questions. The answers you choose determine what you look like, what your town looks like, and what your native fruit is. Though it's fun seeing what you're ...
...it's far from it. The animal neighbors say the same things to you over and over again and get fixated on certain items or furnitures that they will then continually mention to you. It's fun collecting things, but you have to wait far too long. Harvesting fruits takes a long time as does collecting fossils - not helped by the fact that you can't skip the long speech that the shop keeper and museum owner gives you. You have to play it every day as ...

Wild World - A simulator of life ?

Advantages: Great fun and keeps you busy day in day out.
Disadvantages: Can become a little repeative.

Animal Crossing Wild World is looked upon as simulator of life. Who's life? It's defiantly not mine or anyone I knows. Let me explain a little about the game. You start Animal Crossing Wild World as a young boy/girl (Depending on what gender you choose) and find yourself in a town populated by walking talking animals. This town contains essentially needed buildings such as a shop, a museum and of course houses. One of these houses is yours. When ...
...up to you. Animal Crossing Wild World days are like our own. The game is based on the Nintendo Ds's internal clock. When its daytime for the player its daytime for the character and vice versa. The same with the date and seasons. If its winter the floor will be covered in snow. In spring the world will have a fresh and exciting look to it. All of this helped me to immerse into the game and made me feel that "MyWorld" was a real place. There are even ...
