...wants them and doesn’t let anyone misguide him. Perhaps his strong family grounding taught him not to get caught up in his own wave of success. He believes in himself 100% and never lets anyone hold him back or deter him from his goal
Not just an entrepreneur clutching at every penny thrown his way he is also shown to be a very kind and generous man. This book also tells the story of his dedication to his 6 children, the heartache of falling out ... ...one great entrepreneur tick. Anyone looking to make a name for themselves in the business world should consider this a must-read. It brings you the dream, the ‘anything is possible’ mentality that makes ordinary folk into something special.
Duncan is hard nosed, passionate, committed and motivated. But above all else he is a regular Joe – a man just living the dream – who doesn’t consider himself anything special, and as the title states, ‘Anyone ...

Advantages: Serves as a good reminder, inspiring Disadvantages: leaves a few questions
Anyone Can Do It serves as a good interesting insight into Duncan Bannatyne's rags to riches story and gives a fair degree of inspiration to anyone struggling to find their own pot of gold. Just like Duncan Bannatyne himself its a straight talking narrative that does exactly what it says on the front cover. The book gives an account of how Bannatyne fought tooth and nail to overcome unemployment and a navy court martial to turn one ice cream van ... ...education to speak of, then anyone can do it." It's clear that this man has worked tremendously hard for his fortunes; it took time and a great deal of personal and family sacrifice, but he got there. If you could bag the one singular trait responsible for Bannatyne's success it would be a very large bag of sheer hard work. Bannatyne also reminds us that no question is ever a stupid question. It is certainly true in his case, that if he hadn't of ...

...succeed. I cannot think of anyone who deserves the success Bannatyne has earned more than himself. He has truly earned everything he has today and I thoroughly respect him for that.
For those of you who have not heard of the Dragon's Den, it is broadcast on BBC2 and hosted by Evan Davies. Evan Davies is a familiar face on the BBC as the BBC's economics editor. On the Dragon's Den entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to the Dragons and hope to gain financial ... ...simple but is a thoroughly enjoyable and interesting series. So far, the Dragon's Den has had three series and I would expect a fourth to be broadcast next year sometime. The current Dragon's are Duncan Bannatyne, Peter Jones, Theo Paphitis, Deborah Meaden and Richard Farleigh. If you have never seen the Dragon's Den I would highly recommend it.

Advantages: Entertaining, easy read, wide coverage on individual's life Disadvantages: Certain stages of life over elaborated on
If your aim in picking up this book is to encounter a full on, detailed account, purely focused on business encounters then this book is probably not the correct one for you. However, if you would like to gain a good understanding behind the facade that Bannatyne portrays on the BBC's Dragon's Den programme then this will turn out to be a very good read indeed.
The content within spans from Bannatyne's childhood to his current involvement as an ...

Advantages: Simple to the point and funny in places Disadvantages: Makes you think you can do it to!
Having been a fan of dragon's den I was excited to receive this book as a present.
It's actually an interesting read and we learn how Duncan made his millions. The book details Duncan's childhood and his tough relationship with his father who tried his best to remove any ambition from Duncan's life. Following a short-lived career in the navy we learn about Duncan's sudden decision to 'become a millionaire' and how initially he made money through ... ...hotels, gyms and casinos.
Duncan comes across as well as a simple man with high ambition. His basic business philosophy apperas to be think of a good idea - i.e. build a care home and then expand quickly i.e. build lots more. This seems to have worked well for him to the point of pondering 'why doesn't everyone do it!
For the most interesting part the book is when he is faced with the minefield of floating his company on the stock exchange - Duncan ...

Advantages: Interesting and easy to read! Disadvantages: I dont think anyone can do it!
...the title of the book Anyone Can Do It! is, for me, a little misleading. You do have to have some business sense to make the kind of money that Mr Bannatyne has as well as the guts to risk it all!
Nevertheless, it is an honest and well written account of a man who has come from nothing to very rich in a short space of time. It is easy to read and is a book you can pick up and read a couple of pages when you have a spare moment. There are interesting ...

Advantages: Excellent Read, Funny and Sad, but wrote in a fantastic way. Disadvantages: Book not long enough
After watching Dragon's Den I thought Duncan was very rude, however after reading his latest book I see him in a different light and to be honest I think the guy is great. Coming from Glasgow and having a very poor lifestyle Duncan talks about his life from the troubles he had at school to joining the navy and life on HMS Eagle, the funny bit is when he got an dishonourably discharge for attempting to throw his commanding officer overboard. While ... ...travelled over parts of the UK and Jersey doing odd jobs and making ends meet. There are lots of laughter in this book and also times of sadness especially when Duncan lost his sister Helen in 1972 from suspected DVT.
By the time yoou have read this book you just want to get hold of Duncan and cuddle him. ...
