“Dainty but Delightful”

Small but packed with functions

Level of sound

I finally decided to purchase a DVD player when a few films I really wanted to see had or so I thought only been bought out in DVD format. I did not really want to spend a huge amount of money as quite honestly I do not get to watch that many films and those I do are normally watched through sky...

No multiregion playback or VCD playback

I got the Apex DVD player for £69 from my local ASDA about a month ago. I hadn't gone out to buy a DVD player, in fact, much the opposite. I'd just got home from holiday and was *trying* to save money. However, whilst bored in a queue for the checkout I accidentally bought one of these. It seemed...

Cheap and Compact

Does not play VCDs

I bought this DVD player from Asda about 3 weeks ago, and must say that I am impressed. The main reason I bought it was because it was cheap - I wanted a second player for the bedroom and did not want to spend a fortune on it as it would not get used an awful lot. I paid just under £70 for it...

A lot for not a lot

No VCD support

I paid just under £70 for it, and because it was Asda, got an automatic 3 year new for old/replacement no quibble warrenty! Now that alone is worth about £50 if not more! The reason for the purchase was to have a second player for another room, so price was the main driver. The DVD player is in...

Having just read some of the other reviews for this product I was disappointed to find that I had paid over the odds for this machine! I actually paid £89 for it at a computer fair and thought that I was getting a bargain! Someone must have seen me coming! However, when all is said and done, this...

“Feature packed bargin buy”

published 28/10/2002

Superb value for money.

Not easy to use the interface

I got the Apex (my first DVD) from ASDA for $69, a bit of an impulse buy but I am so glad I did. I am new to DVD, didn't want to sell my video collection down the river. The first thing to notice when I got it out of the box was the ease with which it all installed. Scart leads and audio leads...

“Apex DVD Player”

published 15/10/2007

Lasts long time, good performance

Lack of image playback and surround sound support.

The APEX DVD player is basically what you get for your money. It offers the basic features of DVD playback but lacks some key features required in todays technology. The DVD player is capable of playing most DVD's however it is quite poor at picture disc playback as it often tells you that there...

Cheap, small, easy to multi-region.

2 channel sound, feels cheap.

This DVD player is cheap. It's about £30 from the highstreet store. It plays mp3s, dvds and is easy to make multi-region using a series of button inputs on the remote. (codes easily found on the internet) It weighs about 3kg, and sits nicely under the 14" tv in my bedroom. I use it to listen to...
