I recently upgrade from a 1.5Ghz G4 stealth upgrade Mac Mini to the Core 2 Duo 1.83 Ghz mini and I am very impressed with the performance improvements. With Xbench the Core 2 Duo was approximately twice as fast as the G4 on many tests. The Mac Mini has a very small form factor 6.5"x6.5"x2" which makes it well suited as a Home Theater PC (HTPC) or for desktop use where space is at a premium. I primarily use the mini as an everyday computer with some ... ...desk and under a TV. The Mac Mini is an excellent entry level computer or an introduction to Macs. This is not to say the computer is limited in capabilities. The only real limitation over the mini's bigger brothers, the iMac and Mac Pro is the fact that it's expandability is more restricted. ...it does come with an apple remote, which is very useful, it does not work on all the online media players (does work with quick time and various things such as itunes. As well as the remote it comes with a DVI to VGA adapter, this allows you to connect a three row adapter or VGA to the DVI port on the back. It will work with any keyboards, mice or most other peripherals so there is no need to spend unnecessary amounts of money on apple products like ... ...the job done it is not the fastest but ideal for a first computer, a home entertainment system or a novelty item. The apple on the top does not light up by the way so dont think it is broken, it is an effective but basic computer packed with features. ...

A cheap mac for everyone, which still maintains its powerful features. After I bought a mac mini, I never go back to other computers, This is so perfect for eveyone and I really tell you now. Once you go Mac you will never go back. Why?
1. It is very powerful - it gives you the power you wanted, because of its dual core processor. You can even use it as a server and still powerful.
2. Compact/Portable - you can carry it, put it anywhere
3. Connectivity ... ...plug it and It adopts it, you don't need to search for drivers, because it knows all devices that you put onto it. Except non-mac devices of course.
4. Lighweight - a very light computer that can be easily carry around.
5. Built-in videocard is already awesome, no need to buy a videocard if your not into game.
6. Colors, once your inside the Mac OS X , whatever display you have, a regular monitor that also for PC, a mac Display or a T.V., You ...

This mini core duo is an inexpensive way to get onto the apple ladder, and you wont be disappointed. Straight out of the box, it looks very stylish and would compliment any home cinema or music system. For such a small unit, the apple packs quite a punch, with ports such as USB and ethernet, wi-fi and ... ...and hoped that it works. Apple seems to just work like a PC doesn't. It's not perfect though. The sheer size of it means that it will be very hard to upgrade, and I have read that there is some poor image processing. ...i wanted to and the apple website is also very helpful in setting up the machine and for any problem that you may have. Im not a computer buff but the machine is very quick in processing and seem to be very efficient.
We have had no problems getting programes for it and run the normal microsoft office, photoshop etc but also have the added benefit of Mac programmes. Most printers and cameras come with mac option for installation so they haven't ...

it is pefect for everything i need. it takes up no room at all because it fits under my minitor. it is fast and very reliable and looks stylish aswell.

Hi,
Mac mini's are brilliant, i have to make it clear that I do not own one, but I use them almost every day!
They were designed to be small, so the best thing is that they arn't working as a small machine they work well because they were designed to. What I mean is they didn't say, let's put a 1.8ghz processor in a small computer, they said, let's make a small computer i know we'll put in a 1.8ghz prosessor!
It's about the size of a small pile ... ...forget it had a DVI output for viewing so you'll also need a DVI to VGA adaptor if you hope to run on normal monitor (although i belive this is included)
It was aimed at the entry level mac user but every maclover loves a mini. These now ship with leopard and are intel based so you can put XP on them if you wish, although i woudln't recommend it because then you leave yourself open to virus's and let's face it mac osX is better than XP!

The speed of apples in a whole are amazing as there are hardly any viruses and if you are worried about of not being able to run Microsft Office they have a special Office for Mac or the other option is to run parallel which runs Windows aswell with the comforts and speed of the Mac, you dont have to take this option.
This may cost a little more to get the Disc of Windows and the parallel desktop ... ...The Apple mini is only 6.5 inches and comes with either a 60 or 80 GB hardrive. Built in wireless and with the intel core duo it is now 5 times faster. A great site which helped was http://www.apple.com/macmini/

I was absolutely blown away by this little computer! My partner, who is a graphic designer, bought this to replace the PC we had and as soon as I got on it I was away! It is so user friendly and easy to navigate. I have learned so much through just using and I don't get irritated by it because it hardly ever crashes. When it does 'crash' or 'freeze up' it's very easy to rectify as you just click 'force quit' and it solves the problem! Brilliant! ... ...to get it working again! Yay! There is also some really fun software already on it like the IMovies and IDVD that you can create your own little movies with photographs with music and effects. It's really good fun and that's the key to this little Mac, it's fun to use whatever you're doing! ...
