...they are. As with all Apple products, as an owner you feel a sense of pride with it, unlike some PC's it becomes 'your mac' and not just 'oh that computer over there in the corner'. Even though i have never really used it, i love the remote control that is magnetically attached to the side of the monitor. A bit like an iPod Nano it controls your computer from a distance and allows you to switch between iMovie, iTunes etc.. with a click of a button...great ...
...biggest gripe however is with Apple themselves, as 3 days after i bought my iMac they upgraded the same model to a 2GHz processor and doubled the RAM to 1GB (after i had already bougt an upgrade for £40) and then cut the price by over £200! Other great features that have been very good are built in Bluetooth, Infrared, Airport, Microphone and Webcam. ...switching from Windows DO IT! Apple have a great bit of software called BootCamp (will be part of the next OSX Leopard) that allows dual booting of OSX and Windows. The Apple IMac is a increadible piece of equiptment, and the speed of the processor is out of this world. If anyone is in doubt of choosing either this or a windows based PC, my personal preference would be the apple for the speed and reliability and also without all of the viruses too, and not to forget the stylish design, which makes it stand out and everyone wants one. I've been running one of these systems for several months now and have not had any problems with the system. It's fast, reliable and stylish. I use this machine for work (Graphics/Video) and leisure (Net, DVD's) and find it handles everything I need it to with ease. Set up is quick and easy as there are a minimum of wires etc to connect. Since my Toshiba M30 harddisk broke down, I decided to go for an iMac as i had been craving for one for ages!!! As a first timer using Macs, I found the controls and mouse foreign BUT it was really easy to pick it up and I found that it was so easy to open a few programs, switch to multiple views and select which one you wanted to see. An easy example would be switching between 3 webpages where you can view all 3 pages and select the one that had ...
