myMac

Advantages: small, slim, looks cool, works and is fast!
Disadvantages: Few niggles with the Intel processors and upgraded and outpriced too quickly

...they are. As with all Apple products, as an owner you feel a sense of pride with it, unlike some PC's it becomes 'your mac' and not just 'oh that computer over there in the corner'. Even though i have never really used it, i love the remote control that is magnetically attached to the side of the monitor. A bit like an iPod Nano it controls your computer from a distance and allows you to switch between iMovie, iTunes etc.. with a click of a button...great ...
...biggest gripe however is with Apple themselves, as 3 days after i bought my iMac they upgraded the same model to a 2GHz processor and doubled the RAM to 1GB (after i had already bougt an upgrade for £40) and then cut the price by over £200! Other great features that have been very good are built in Bluetooth, Infrared, Airport, Microphone and Webcam. These have been very usefull for transferring files from my phone, using skype to chat and use the ...

A wonderful workhorse of a desktop.

Advantages: Simple to work. No tower.
Disadvantages: Free support only for 3 months.

...switching from Windows DO IT! Apple have a great bit of software called BootCamp (will be part of the next OSX Leopard) that allows dual booting of OSX and Windows. You can even get a virtual desktop to open Windows whithout having to boot out of OSX. I've dabbled in trying to triple boot with Linux too but yet unsuccessful. There's basic software to cover every task in OSX or the most complex if that's more your style. Almost all of your data will ...
...else is out there try Apple and Versiontracker. Theres a webcam stuck in the top of the screen even. I've not any use for that yet as most of my friends/family use old hardware but Photo Booth supplied will give you hours of laughs with your visitors. The speakers could go louder but try and work out where they are!? A subwoofer would solve my issue here. 4 months on and I'm still excited about using it. I say buy two!! ...

Review on the Apple IMac 17'

Advantages: The Speed of this IS AMAZING
Disadvantages: None

The Apple IMac is a increadible piece of equiptment, and the speed of the processor is out of this world. If anyone is in doubt of choosing either this or a windows based PC, my personal preference would be the apple for the speed and reliability and also without all of the viruses too, and not to forget the stylish design, which makes it stand out and everyone wants one. It also runs without a sound and loading and shutting down times are amazing. ...

Great Speed, Reliability at a decent price.

Advantages: Incredible Speed
Disadvantages: Very few disadvantages for the casual/light work user

I've been running one of these systems for several months now and have not had any problems with the system. It's fast, reliable and stylish. I use this machine for work (Graphics/Video) and leisure (Net, DVD's) and find it handles everything I need it to with ease. Set up is quick and easy as there are a minimum of wires etc to connect. The screen is crisp and bright, the speakers clear and provide good bass. The mouse and Keyboard are nice and ...
...enough USB/Firewire ports for everyday use eg connecting external hardrives) One of the things that I've found to be useful is the tiny supplied remote- it makes the system easy to use as an entertainment centre as well as a work tool. It is nicely designed (very simple and straight forward) and has the added bonus of being magnetic and attaches to a small patch on the side of the monitor! Pretty cool! It also has an in-built iSight camera which ...

My new IMAC

Advantages: Compact, Stylish, Value for money
Disadvantages: A little slow when opening up a number of programs at one go

Since my Toshiba M30 harddisk broke down, I decided to go for an iMac as i had been craving for one for ages!!! As a first timer using Macs, I found the controls and mouse foreign BUT it was really easy to pick it up and I found that it was so easy to open a few programs, switch to multiple views and select which one you wanted to see. An easy example would be switching between 3 webpages where you can view all 3 pages and select the one that had ...
...a fair number of programs such as word, safaris and adium, it took awhile for loading. Also, the graphic is not exactly fantastic for those art users or gamings although it is enough to view movies and meddle around. If speed is of great importance though, you can always just upgrade your ram as you buy the computer because there is only 1 ram slot. For the value, I would say this is an all round Mac with the latest technology to suit most people ...
